I’ve come close to death several times and what it made me realize over the years is that those things that we pray for in greed as a “blessing” are the very things that God is trying to help us detach ourselves from. It pushed me up higher to a closer spiritual relationship with God, not so that I may obtain in this life, but so that I can come closer into the knowledge of the reality of the LIFE and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY that’s the inheritance of those who believe and continue to die to self daily. I have things on this earth, but those brushes with death helped me to not seek those things but to seek that which is eternal, the Kingdom of Heaven.
