Weiss' loneliness really is displayed well here. We see all the members of her family, yet it only highlights how alone she is. Willow is a shadow enjoying her drinks, Jacques is essentially a dominating figure controlling her but never truly present, Winter is a helpful guide when she needs it, but is far away, and Whitney, who is there, isn't even seen as human by Weiss, just a snitching bat flapping around.

That one shadow with Weiss in her room is her mom, notice the bottle and the cup, you can tell how her mom has given to the drink and is never there so she's another shadow for Weiss.

As the little bit of light that Weiss knew in her life. It does speak volume on why Weiss was the way she was at the start, compared to the opened up caring Weiss we know now.

It's really a blast to get your perspective of Ice Queendom, Arnold!! I had a good feeling that you would be pleased with Studio SHAFT's vision of RWBY. And it looks like I was right so far. The origins of "Flynt Coal" is still by far my favorite RoosterTeeth easteregg in all of RWBY. It came from their Minecraft series, episode 6!!! legit the start of RoosterTeeth, (about 10~ minutes in) when Michael (the voice of Sun Wukong) starts talking about it, and Geoff says it would be a cool name, this character, 'Flint Coal'. Michael suddenly comes in swinging with the, "....you'd (Flynt Coal) have to be black though, right?" XDDD.

On a whole, I enjoyed Ice Queendom. Shion is an interesting character which I think could easily have a spin-off series. However, I feel there are too many elements to their semblance. Instead of a telephone, I feel like those who enter the dream should be able to contact Shion telepathically because they are connected through that web of theirs.

I feel like Ice Queendom takes a lot of elements from an anime called Akame Ga Kill - also Weiss rocking the supervillain look is pretty “cool.” (Also Willow was the shadow on the wall in Weiss’ room.) In unrelated news, I’d like to suggest to you that you try a show called Oshi No Ko - considering that you know have a lot of experience with public perception and content creation, I think you would find you’d get a lot out of it. :)

5:25 a little small fact. In the Blu-ray Disc of the anime. They actually did a complete original animation opening with the song so no clips from the first 3 episodes was used for the opening of you bought the Blu-Ray disc.

The anime aired with a lot of unfinished animation, which will become even more noticeable in the following episodes. This was all fixed in the Blu-Ray. I don't think the TV version is the right one for a reaction series.

@@nathanielbaldevino5364 to be fair, most anime studios put in the "fixed scenes or enhanced scenes for blu-ray releases. So it's a common practice since they finally had the time to do it AFTER the series initially airs. During the broadcasts of anime, the main concern is getting the anime episodes out on time just so broadcast channels won't have to scramble for a temp replacement. Because air time cost money and sponsors lose that money if they don't get their anime out on time.

By the end I think I like this version of the girls more than the original and the character development that happens here are so good, and most likely been better if it had more seasons to work with without having to stay within the story of the original.

Just FYI, the version of the anime you're watching aired with a lot of unfinished animation, some of the following episodes are even missing entire cuts. I'd recommend waiting for the English Blu-Ray release.
