Personally DJ Jurgen should of gotten way more recognition for his brilliant creations Better Off Alone, It seems at the time it was a good idea to change it to Alice Deejay making it more popular and commercialized but it got so big who knows what cut DJ Jurgen got out of it. I hope it was worth it cause I hear horror stories with music industry contracts ripping off artists.

She’s not doing interviews unfortunately.
@DirtyZ Жыл бұрын
It's debatable whether or not she provided vocals for any of the singles. Back then producers were incessantly churning out new singles hoping for the next big dance hit. They worked with a pool of studio singers that sounded good and knew the process (we've seen this with VARIOUS projects, Corona and Whigfield are two of the best known examples). Given what the original video to Better Off Alone consisted of, I think that this record was another case of throwing spaghetti at the wall and then the back story being created AFTER it stuck, not before. Even now that they're back to doing 90s shows with the original Alice Deejay lineup, the vocals have been rerecorded (and used over and over) to provide the illusion of live singing, but was she actually ever the singer in the studio? I have doubts, but until the actual singer pipes up (though is probably sworn to secrecy by an NDA), we will never know for sure.
@UMBR. Жыл бұрын
@@DirtyZ Apparently the reason there are 2 music videos for Better Off Alone is that Judy missed her flight to where they were filming, so they had to have a model stand-in. However, Judy is now performing with a hand-held microphone, as opposed to a head-set microphone. This has me confused... is she singing live now? Another example of faces/models lip-syncing to a different person's vocals is Ian van Dahl's "Castles in the Sky". Cindy Mertens lip-synced in videos/performances to vocals by Marsha (Martine Theeuwen). Both Cindy and Marsha then got dropped and Annemie Coenen was brought in to lip-sync to Marsha's vocals, before they then recorded Annemie's vocals for a revised version of CitS.

I really need help, guys. Hello, it was 2002 or 2003 when I heard this Electronic/Dance song playing, once at a show called The Roof at channel MUN2. I also had it as an MP3 song as a remix played along with the Ecuador song I downloaded from a P2P program back in the day. Since then, I haven't heard it again but is stuck in my head. I have searched everywhere, and it's like it never existed. I know it was kind of famous song as I hearded playing in several occasions. Most likely it was Trance, Dance or Electronic song, same genre as Better off Alone or Sandstorm.. After researching the show The Roof, I was able to find out that DJ Tiesto seemed to be the only DJ that visited the show around 2002 and 2003. I believe he is the one that plays this song but I could be wrong. I even was able to find out a 15 minute video on youtube of when he played at The Roof, but it was only a small fraction of the 30 minute video. I don't know nothing about music and this might be stupid but I dont have another choice. The song sounds something like this. Da Da Da Daraaa Daraaa, Da Da Da Daraaa Raaaran. Or something like this TaTa Ta Taraaa Taraaa, Ta Ta Ta Taraaa Raran. I would be able to replicated a bit better with my voice if I make a little recording. But this is all I have. If someone knows the song I am please let me know. As I have been searching for it for over 20 years. I have listen to hours upon hours of music from that era. Its making me crazy is like it never existed. Has never come out at a movie, show, radio, no where, and it's been over 20 years. The song sounded really good. Like I mentioned earlier, it was as good as better off alone or sandstorm. Please, someone help me! Here is the video of the show I am talking about. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGPIY3lno7uGi9Esi=SZSS1epcF1_feEyL

When I started getting into the dance music scene these 3 songs changed my path. Huge fan of "Better off alone", Jurgen, and Alice Deejay and their impact on Dance Music. I really believe Alice Deejay's album "Who needs guitars anyway" became a huge success and really made a mark for dance music during that time frame. I still listen to the album, and dance music and I honestly believe that nothing compares to it.
