Denis Leary is responsible for the book becoming a movie. How did they land Johnny Depp?

Been on a Johnny Depp movie binge ever since his defamation trial started and I came across "Blow." It was my first time watching it; I had zero expectations, but I was completely blown away (no pun intended). The story was tragically beautiful and of course, JD did a superb job as always. I was in tears by the end of the movie and I'm so glad to have learned about Mr. Jung's life in this manner. May he rest in peace now...

I relate to that final scene also. Mine is a little more depressing. I think of the future and how I will reminisce about my lost live coming back walking and talking with me. We rekindle our love. Then I snap out of it and I am alone. It is depressing knowing that will probly be my future.

Johnny friggen nailed George. This was awesome. What an amazing talent. George couldn't of picked a better guy to portray him. Turns out, that is absolutely true because Johnny did him justice and some, through the portrayal. Its become a cult classic and always will be. Johnny immortalized George and vice versa, through the movie. The stars aligned perfectly for this one. Bravo. Rest easy George. See ya in the next one.

I love this movie and have not ever used any drugs and I must the "one person who lived on the moon" because I had never heard of Pablo Escobar until this show. If I had heard about him or read about him before his death in 1993 I don't recall it. Carmine Galante and his heroine smuggling yes. Pablo and cocaine no. What a great movie! Johnny Depp was awesome in it and so was Paul Ruebens.

Great film, I got a friend of mine to go see it with me when it was in the theater. I'm not sure if he liked it but I've watched it many times ever since and I bought the book and I have the audiobook as well. It's an amazing story. I think George has always been a good guy just like all of us who grew up with a lot of Counter Culture influences. But I don't think George is a product of the counterculture on. I think George is a product of the Zeitgeist that existed back then and maybe still exist today once we get these Millennials off their asses

No doubt it's an entertaining enough life story. But why are we celebrating someone whose contribution to the world was to get rich from human misery & tragedy - then lose many years of his life to prison? That's not any kind of success. Yet George was glamorised by this movie, and his portrayal by the handsome and charismatic Johnny Depp. Does a drug dealer deserve to be memorialised like this? Aside from the amount of cash he made, there's no difference between him and any other low-life coke dealer!

I'm so glad they went with Johnny Depp because he did it justice. However, it would have been interesting to see Sean Penn do the role. Penn has that bad boy lock your daughters up kind of vibe. Val is pretty good too but Penn is a beast!
