The Story Behind Elvis Presley's Gold Belt,Where It Came From & What It Meant To Him.

For a period of approximately 3 years Elvis would sport a very noticeable gold belt both on stage and off.In this video i describe what that belt was,where it came from and why it was so important to him.

I remembered when Elvis received this belt for selling out his shows at the International Hotel when he first performed there. I was not aware that Elvis had performed 60 shows in the first month. How kool this is the same belt Elvis was wearing during his Madison Square Garden conference. Great video!!! Thank you Rich!!! 👍👏👍

Hey Barb,,just an update,,I dug a little and on Graceland.com they say Elvis did 57 shows during that month long long engagement and all were sold out.

Elvis also wore his gold belt when he went to the White House and got the narcotics badge from President Richard Nixon. Sonny West said that President Nixon said you dress kinda strange to which Elvis replied "well Mr. President you've got your show to run and I've got mine".
