I agree with you. She pretended to be somebody she wasn't and that from the beginning of the relationship on. She wanted to be somebody. Being with him offered her some opportunities. She probably had her dreams and wanted to be with someone important to achieve her goals, which automatically wouldn't have been possible if she had continued her life as an unknown young girl without a global star by her side. Luckily for her Elvis was attracted to her. You have to have some luck in life, right? She had some luck that's for sure. I have to admit, she expressed some really good ideas, for example the jumpsuits, the flashy belts, the logos. Maintaining Graceland was a hard piece of work, which she mastered brilliantly. But I don't believe her story about how they met either. She must have helped somehow. She must have been precocious, considering that her mother was often pregnant from 1949 on. I'm assuming her mother was helping her style the day she met Elvis. It would have been in her mother's interest that Elvis found her daughter attractive. Neither her mother nor the man who adopted her, were rich people. It's easy to answer who benefited from whom. I believe also what Mary Lacker reported: Elvis told him that he was pressured by Priscilla's father to marry her. In the last phone call that Red West had with Elvis, Elvis talked about his wedding day and called it "that marriage thing." He seemed not to have digested it after 10 years. He complained to Red that this marriage ceremony had happened so quick. He didn't get to enjoy his own wedding. What would have happened to Priscilla if she and Elvis had broken up in the mid 60s or earlier? What would she have achieved afterwards? Most likely not what she achieved after her divorce. She certainly would have gotten married at some point, but would she have lived in a beautiful villa like she did before and after her divorce? There was only one Elvis, and she certainly had the ambition to keep him for herself, especially when half the women in the world idolized him and would have sold their grandmother to be with him. I can imagine, that she wanted to remain at his side. I also read that she allegedly was a big Paul Anka fan and allegedly tried to get to know him before she met Elvis. Getting to know Paul Anka during the late 50s and early 60s was a big deal and still is. From what I've read, she allegedly has made an effort to get close to Paul Anka. Red West once said in an interview that you can find on youtube, that she allegedly tried to get to know him (Red) in Germany, shortly before she met Elvis. So its a bit strange to hear all those things about her. Fact is, cheating rumors started to arise a few years after the wedding. The way she started dating Mike Stone seems to show a pattern. Did Elvis figure out things? Why did the relationship fell apart? Did he never fully digest the fact that he was forced into his own marriage? Marty Lacker said Elvis allegedly kept postponing the wedding around 1965/66. You can hear it in his interviews. As a big Elvis fan, I often wondered: Would Elvis have gotten older if he never had married and never had divorced her? The divorce hit him hard. Sonny West once said that the fact, she dated MS was allegedly hard to take for Elvis. If he had lived longer, he could have achieved new things with his wonderful and unique voice, personality and creativity. I am sad that the most important person in that group is gone as the first one. Elvis is gone for so many years now. Some others, for example the colonel, outlived him for so much longer, 20 years, and died at nearly 88 years old. He lived twice as long as Elvis and destroyed Elvis health by making him perform several times a night for weeks and was never interested in letting him perform outside of the US. Nearly everybody who was with him made money out of him. That`s kind of sad. It was so important to Elvis to always give his best in every show, no matter the cost. Elvis, thank you for that! Great recap on "Child Bride." I love that book. So well researched with interviews dating back to when Prissy was in MIDDLE SCHOOL. So interesting to see these interviews juxtaposed against Prissy's comments, as she was also interviewed for this book. Very REVEALING. Agree with everything you said, but so good to hear you talk about it and put it in a video. Prissy has been concocting her FAKE non-existent fairytale for the past 46 years. Everyone gets hung up on her age. She was NOT a NAIVE child. Prissy grew up on military bases. She was used to being around men. She saw the troops all the time on base, off base, at the base store, etc. She KNEW that men were attracted to her looks and she used it to her advantage. (For me, she was pretty on the outside but very ugly on the inside.) Prissy was “AGGRESSIVE” from the very beginning. QUESTION: What I did not know was that Prissy, herself, ADMITTED that she was the FIRST to CHEAT in their marriage. Do you RECALL where you got that info? One of my questions that I’ve been posting is that “From 5/1/67 thru 5/1/68, who did EP sleep with?” We know a month or two he was on his “honeymoon.” We know in 7/67 he saw AM in Vegas to let her know how he still felt about her. So, the caste system then became EP/Pp, Joe E/Joannie/Jerry S. on one side and everyone else on the other (the leeches as Prissy referred to them). So, when EP said that he was "railroaded" into the marriage and it happened so fast, I think this is what he was referring to. He was down for two-weeks recovering from the concussion, then had to finish a movie and the next thing you know he was married. When I went into Graceland 20 years ago there was a huge framed portrait of Priscilla in the dining room, not Elvis but her. The ex wife in his house.

I wish he had never met her. I believe 100% that he was in love with Ann Margaret. Unfortunately, their mutual careers would not allow a future together. As he said often "it was fate" Elvis is not the love of her life. The dancer, the karate instructor, the hair dresser she married (Eli) which was annulled. Or, the screen writer who's child she had.
