Another thing that bothers me is how much people think Masky and Hoodie have some kind of 'brotherly bond'. Well, no. After Tim (Masky) was finally let out of the mental institution (Tim was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, which was caused by the Operator, Slenderman, stalking him.) He went to collage, where he met Brain (Hoodie) for the first time. Brian often took care of Tim. However, it is unknown whether or not Brian knew about Tim's problems. We can assume he does since some time in the series Hoodie stole Tim's medical forms to prove to Jay that Tim is a liar. But we still don't know if he knew this back when things were... peaceful. Brian was friends with Alex who started a film project called 'Marble Hornets'. It was then when The Operator came back to stalk Tim, also causing the other people who were working on the movie to get stalker by the Operator. Long story short, Brian ended up running away and lost contact with Tim. Brian mostly blamed Tim for what happened. (Alex becoming obsessed with The Operator and deciding to kill everyone who"'s been in contact with Slendy, since he can't exactly kill the thing.) Brian didn't exactly turn against Tim, but he did take a disliking to him. Hoodie started to manipulate Tim, forcing him to become 'Masky'. When Tim is Masky, he can't remember anything and isn't exactly conscious. Tim was manipulated, mentally tortured by Hoodie who constantly stole from him. As quoted by the creators (though not exactly, because I'm writing this from memory) "We see 'Masky' and 'Hoodie' as two sides of the same coin. Masky is the more violent one who tackles everyone whereas Hoodie is the more quiet one, who likes to set everyone up." So we can guess that Brian was constantly mentally torturing Tim, enforcing his masked persona and making him do all his dirty work. So, Hoodie and Masky aren't exactly even friends anymore. Since Tim was the one attacking Brian when he fell to his death, so technically Tim killed Brain. *Masky and Hoodie's 'brotherly bond' is bullshit.* Edit: hi yeah its me a year later just dropped by to say STOP MAKING CHEESECAKE JOKES. they were origionally made to make fun of Tim's weight (calling him fat). Yeah Masky and Hoodie have NOTHING to do with cheesecake okkkk watch marble hornets kids or the slenderman will send you to the boardwalk

For everyone in the comments going "They don't belong in the creepypasta fandom, stop putting them in there! T^T" I would just like to point out that the creators of Marble Hornets - Joseph and Troy - actually said that they find it cool when people can relate these characters into the creepypasta fandom and that they don't mind it at all. They said to get creative with stories and fanart and such, but to PLEASE know their true story. Don't try to change their origins. If you can find a way to tie the series in to other Slenderverse series like creepypasta, EverymanHYBRID, Clear Lakes 44, TwelveTrives, etc., while keeping their story safe, preserved, and true, then by all means, go for it. Also, I think everyone's realized by now that most Slenderman depictions are based off of the Marble Hornets' Operator because this was one of the first stories people had made with this entity. While it was created to be different from the Slenderman, the two ended up merging together anyways because it became the basis for the figure. When Night Minds explained the Marble Hornets series, he used the two names interchangeably. If you need anything else cleared up, just watch the series. Even watching the explained videos by Night Minds gives you a better understanding than just ignoring their origins. Also, watch the panels that the creators - namely Joseph DeLage and Troy Wagner with pop-ins from Noah Scammon, Tim Sutton, and Brian Haight - are in because they clear up a lot of the vague stuff in the series that fans are still confused about. +Zoey SheAqueenX I dont think they couldve been trying to make something popular from slendermans popularity because they are one of the huge reasons he became popular in the first place, especially considering a lot of things people treat as cannon about him come from Marble Hornets. Slenderman to my knowledge was not a creepypasta at the time. It also has to do with my dislike that people just disregard the story? “Masky” and “hoodie”s personality’s in the creepy pasta fandom have almost no base in the source material. I know its not really possible for a fandom to always do good it just really bothers me that creepypasta kinda bastardizes the characters to the point that they arent really the same characters anymore? I also really want to know why they work for the operator/slenderman in creepypasta usually considering in Marble Hornets the only one to do that was Alex im pretty sure? Its just very frustrating to me.

*I wrote this before watching the video* I don’t think Creepypasta should really be in the tittle at all. I’m a REALLY big fan of Marble Hornets and basically everything Troy (the creator of MH) does especially his newer stuff like Eckva which people should checkout it’s fairly new but really amazing! But anyway Marble Hornets just uses the concept of the Slenderman when it was fairly new and named it “The Operator” hence the operator sign (the circle with the x on it) being associated with him thru out the entry’s. The point is MH isn’t a creepypasta in my book but everyone has a opinion and can think whatever they want, this is just mine.h

Mr. jordan I’d like to help you out here with other people (that don’t believe you) in the comment Masky and Hoodie were created by THAC TV with their webseries Marble Hornets. Marble Hornets is the founding father of the webseries verse known as The slenderverse but it is not connected and can’t be connected to any other series in the verse. They just started it and gave the idea. Masky is not a proxy or CP and has never come into contact with the slenderman only a monster based off of the slenderman called The Operator yah yah and masky is always in control and is working against the Operator and working with the two other members of totheark hoodie confirmed there was a third member who is believed to be Seth. And of course Brian is hoodie. Why Masky tackles jay if he is in control well he is in control if you could notice Masky waited a bit before tackling jay because he was expecting alex to come back and finish off Brian but it was jay who came but why Tim claimed Masky isn’t his real state while that’s because the Operator wiped Tim’s memory so I he wouldn’t remember hoodie and wouldn’t be a threat to alex. Andddd I ammmm donnnneeeWAIIITITTT and why Brian state he enjoyed watching Tim suffer is because that happened after Brian found out Tim was a lyer. So basically Brian and Tim got together to create totheark and work against alex because they thought alex was the cause of the torment until Hoodie found Tim’s medical files and figured out he was being lied to and Tim was the cause
