After everything the black community in America went through even in recent history and are still going through they brought the world the most inspirational, uplifting music. What a record.

One of my favorite Promised Land moments was in a movie about a french house producers/promoter called "Eden". There's a club scene where the track kicks in and everyone starts singing along. It's amazing.

Great Video - Thank you! I had the pleasure of meeting Joe Smooth, Anthony Thomas and several other artists after the London gig of the '87 Chicago House Tour. (I was just an enthusiastic 21 year old and had fallen in love with HoUsE since hearing 'Love Can't Turn Around' by Farley Jackmaster Funk, Jesse Saunders & Darryl Pandy the year before.) I was allowed back through the stage door and then sat and chatted with them whilst they kindly autographed some of their records for me. (which I had for some reason decided to bring with me on the night and left them in the car just in case) An amazing experience which I still treasure and I still have the records of course. Great people and a very exciting time - the love of the music and the sense that something really big was about to happen. It was only years later that I discovered that it was possibly a tour to the U.K./Europe that had inspired Joe to write 'Promised Land'. Good times. Big Love.

Just wondering, one of my faves of all times were Warp 69 by natural high And Love Stimulation by Humate. Just certain versions played in the club, do not like all versions.

What a musical genius. Imagine if this loving guy was president and made it mandatory to have street partys every month. Oh and wages capped at 200k..if you did it was passed onto third world countries..No guns or hate just love..What a world it would be?..btw did he come from a rough neighbourhood?
