i mean potentially but the fact the dog was playing fetch and droppin a stick in front of him makes me think otherwise. bc if so why would the boy waste time playing fetch with quonka rather than leading them to where his owner is. i personally think it was simply just a stray who wanted to play bc he hadnt seen a person in a while.
