I remember discovering this when my friend told me about a “very scary sonic guy” in the game. He told me the code. When I found it I was terrified. Many sleepless nights. I wanted to ask sega why? I was only 8 then and I’m still kinda shocked by the addition of this.

Soooo, basically. The reason why sonic is blue is because they mock the hindu gods scheme of immortality. They use twins or triplets for there military "operation's" to surprise the enemy that thinks they killed the important figure, then "Boom!" another one just as strong gets back at them. That's why there's multiple sonics on the message screen because the important figure can't be killed. The reason for the mustache is because this "hair vs tortoise" trick has probably been innovated in different worlds and the big disguise is using a real or fake mustache to get what you want. I was never a Sega kid, my life revolved around Nintendo, and the Super Mario Show. I was also never there to experience this easter egg, I was born years later, when there was new stuff. But finding this out later in my life, it still kinda creeps me out. For some reason, I like being scared like this. It's funny when you think about it. As someone born in late 2006, I never owned a Sega CD, Nor a Genesis/MegaDrive. I didn't even know of this till I was watching a live stream of someone testing Sonic CD Easter Eggs, This was at 8 PM on a wednesday, so suffice to say when he got to The "Fun is Infinite" screen, I was being a scared little 8 year old (this was in 2014) who was afraid to sleep cause I thought upon waking up I'd be in a different dimension where my house would stay the same, but outside would be surrounded in that Weird Sonic, and that all my family would be possessed by it. Yeah i was a stupid scaredy cat at age 8.

Just to clarify: the scary music is just the normal boss music in the US version of the game, not the final boss theme. So in the original japanese version of the game, the boss music is quite funky and upbeat, so it was really created as a fun little easter egg and not nightmare fuel.

I'm going to add this here, most pre-2000s game easter eggs tend to be more creepy than intended to, heck i even heard kids being haunted by the PSX theme. I learned that on the movie "Ready Player One" after seeing that last game where the game was eerily simple, and the easter egg was written in creepy binary codes.
