My friend and I started playing MtG on Onslaught block and Akroma was one of those card that blow our minds. For us it was the ultimate creature. Great video as always Lorebrarian :)

Thank you! That's so cool, she is definitely a big, scary threat from the older days of MTG

My brother and I had both a Mono Black Phage Control and White Green Akroma Kamahl, it was the pinnacle of Magic for me. Thanks for this awesome content mate it brings back a lot of good memories.

I started playing in onslaught when I was 6 years old. My cousin build my first 2 decks for me 1 was a green elf, the other was a black zombie but he always had a white deck with Akroma in his collection. Reminds me of the days playing magic for 10 hours a day! Good times!

I recall walking to my flgs as a kid to buy some cards. Chanted "Akroma, Phage, Scion of Darkness" the whole way there, and did pull a Scion! :) Finally picked up Akroma in Time Spiral as the bonus retro frame card. :D

Hi There!! Great Video, I loved the story, in fact I have an Akroma, angel of fury commander deck, and I just bought an Akroma memorial as an addition, which is powerful but more importantly, super flavorful. I was wondering, where do you get all this information from? Do you just deduce it from the cards or have you also read the comics, novels, etc? Cheers!
@TheLorebrarians3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad you liked it and that sounds like an awesome commander deck! So I've got a list of references in the description and that's where most of the info comes from. The rest is inferences from art or flavor text and then a little creative license to spin a nice tale.

I made some money on it’s 1st release by drawing 4 Akroma in a single day on 6 boosters. Lady Luck is on my side that day.

Thought about covering a legendary creature from any commander precon? (Planeswalker or not)
@TheLorebrarians4 жыл бұрын
Many of them are first introduced in the precons, and do not have enough story to do a full video on. However, I've done minute myth videos on Kelsien and Atraxa! Do you have suggestions?

@@TheLorebrarians 90% agree minus some of the power levels but again way better and threats that would make most mtg villains looks like gnats. an example being yawgmoth , the lord of waste who challenged multiply god like planeswalkers himself which even the eldrazi could not fit into this threat category as they were taken out by post mending walkers making me question their threat level in comparison. but again i got tired of to much power and wish for more plane based threats(kinda more like kaladesh minus the gatewatch and bolas intervention) instead of threats to a plane( like new phyrexia to mirrodin).

6:20 - "Ixidor's illusory forces" - pronounce "illusory" like you would "illusion". "ill-use-your-ree" and not "ill-you-soar-ree".

I remember when I read the novels during the time and I was laughing my butt off at the thought of a crazy guy who was so obsessed over his dead love that he made another but in angel form which would lead the world into near ruin. Then many years later in 2020 I laughed just as hard when I heard a virus with the same name of Karona wrecking people. It was easily the most ironic moment I’ve ever experienced.
