Uto's journey was quite wild to be honest, I was one of the early fans of her and actually she is the first vtuber that I genuinely liked. I witnessed all the shitstorm that happened and I am so glad that she have overcomed this challenges and have achieve big milestones in her life like getting 500k subs, getting a 3D model and creating an album. I am still supporting her to this day and looking forward to what she has to offer in the future.

From what I found thanks to the forbidden knowledge... It's a mess. The old group fucked up and she in return decided to make shit hit the fan. Others are either lies by antis or the truth but it's unknown at this point and probably only she knows about it. I personally think it's a young person making mistakes not really knowing how to deal with them but slowly making up for it and I don't blame her but I hope she learned from all that. Other than that this is a very good video helping us understand about her.

As an indie Vtuber I can understand the frustration with the grind. The temptation to sign on with anyone claiming they can help you with views is definitely there. I've uploaded 30 minute videos that took almost 30 hours to record, edit, compile, and upload and trust me it's hard to see that video get 60 views.

But that is already the wrong mindset. No Indie Vtuber or Streamer can explode in popularity right from the get go. Without an agency, or some good knowledge in Marketing, an Indie Streamer simply can't get popular over the course of a few weeks or months. Just by "producing" in high quality, does not mean that everybody knows that the product is in high quality or worth investing time. Some people say "naaah thats sh*t that only large agencies can really do something". But tbh. this principle I've mentioned suits to *any* product, not just social media Marketing. Which is why indie streamer not only have to produce in good quality or a certain way to stick out, but also have to actively manage how their content can be seen.

Damn, I happened to stumble upon her channel because her designer is Nabi mama and being Amelia's 'sister', and while she was under 10k subs and her videos didn't go beyond 5k views. I wasn't a subscriber but I see her vids and clips every now and then so I was kind of updated in a way. Watching her channel grow and her be famous, and go through what she went through is kinda amazing, like watching an underdog win a championship.

I think expecting her to _actually_ be an angel is dumb, she's a real human being, and a young one at that. I feel like calling her past a "dark past" with dramatic music and saying she did "fucked up things" is...an exaggeration, because what I've found basically amounts to "teenage girl acts shitty when dealing with interpersonal drama", which...isn't exactly shocking. It would not surprise me if other beloved vtubers did similar things when they were younger, just not as publicly. Hell, it'd be more of a surprise if they _didn't_ do similar stuff when they were younger. I don't remember that many people denying the meta tags thing being true, just arguing about whether or not it was actually a big deal or whether or not it actually helped her. The big thing I remember people saying was that JP fans took metatags seriously, while westerners didn't, and that too many metatags might actually backfire. Hololive themselves used to do the same thing, and while they did have to stop, no one talks about how they were "slimy" in the past. I also kind of feel like you exaggerated how much backlash there was after the company incident, I remember seeing a large amount of support and forgiveness from her fans right after she apologized, and her return video literally has more views than any of her previous ones, and is FULL of supportive comments, which you don't usually see with people who seriously got the public mad at them. Hell, all of her most viewed videos came AFTER the incident, and many of them not THAT long after it either. I'm legitimately curious as to what you're talking about regarding other vtubers being mad at her and not wanting to collab until later, considering she was able to collab with Bao for the first time not even a _month_ after her KING video, and Pikamee only a month after that.

When Uto first appeared she seemed very nice, but the overarching issue of "She's trying to attach to Ame" was always there. Yes, she had a tie to Ame, but I think Ame didn't want her to associate too heavy with her from that alone and let Uto just be herself. I didn't actually know about the metatag stuff and only found out about her through Ame's vtuber wiki page. Seeing this, just......wow....she did a lot of dumb things in the past but it's good to see she grew from them and took back control of things for herself. If I wanna reach a certain target audience ( in this case Hololive watchers ) I would do the same. It really isn't and despite Nousagi trying to make a redemption narrative out of her, it didn't hurt her as much as he thinks lmao. Her fans just wanted her to be out of the company and Hololive themselves did the same thing when they were small. EVEN if it were bad, that'd be on her company, not her, but that goes against the "redemption" narrative. That's why he only shows FRAGMENTS of the negative comments at 8:22 and not the full comment or where they came from, it's to give the illusion of negative backlash without showing sources so people can't verify if those people were even fans of her in the first place. It's why he doesn't have any sources in his description, which any REAL historian would do. I could pull up FRAGMENTS of Ayame hate and say she got massive fan backlash for one thing or another, but that wouldn't make it true! It's also why he just SAYS other vtubers were wary of her while giving ZERO examples and ignoring people telling him she got collabs very shortly AFTER the drama.

You can aknowledge the faults, but ostractize someone for a past fault is really toxic as well. There is circumstances and circumstances as well. I will put 2 examples: Person 1 is an artist who struggles a lot to be noticed, his art can be better and is always better with each iteration the artist does. Said artist has rough period where his mental being was jeopardized by work and other people around. Said artist got mean with them and said thing the artist shouldn't because he was pressured before distance from everyones, struggles more, make a deal who almost make the artist spiral into more drama and once again distance even more from everyones, included the people who like the artist work. Time later comes back under another name, with a much better work, and his mental being is much more better, he even said: "the past is the past and I'm a new better person now", showing also the work the artist does start to getting cooler and cooler. Person 2 is an artist who was always mean and vindictive to everyones around, make bad mouthing comment abount everyone in genera, hate things who are "popular" beside his popularity and later start to latch and leech from said trends too. Its rude, condescending, unprofessional, entitled, etc. But nobody said anything because the artist is popular and the work is looks cool. And only the drama resurge if the person is at the center. What i said is: "you can't run from your past but you can better your future". People doesn't realize is as they are latched into the past instead of the present and future. Also ... remember what a is demon. Basically a fallen angel. But you can said the opposite, if the demon reedem itself, the demon can became an angel too.

I'm not subbed to Uto, but she's part of my faves in Holodex so I could see her content. I only heard about her artist commission drama, but I didn't watch out on it until it resolved itself. Her being associated too much to Amelia felt forced, but in the end of the day she was quite okay. And a random Lele appeared. She probably appeared in my feeds since I watch Hololive and I'm from the same country. I didn't know about her problem at all, probably because I couldn't really get into her content. It was nice that she's a Filipino and all, but her design is way too close to our flag that it felt like pandering.

Tbh it is fun to see someone struggle, not because i am a sadist. You see, most struggle will teach you something if you want to learn. Uto learned that doing any sort of that shit is bad, whether she continues to do them i have no fucking idea but i like to trust that she doesn't. If she truly doesn't, this whole incident has taught her to be a better person overall, that you can't learn from hearing someone talking, you have to personally experience it. I myself had my own similar experience of doing fucked up shits and such but ultimately came out a better person, seeing others do the same really makes me proud of them.

I just want to see a Vtuber make an avatar that looks like an angel that carries an oni mask. The mask would be symbolizing the idea that even the most angelic faces can wear the face of a demon. This would basically allow the vtuber to be able to act seiso whenever they want but then they can just switch and become bad shit crazy out of the blue.

I'm probably very late on this but anyways Got into the vtuber hole like 1 year after uto debuted..... So probably all the drama was done ..... Started out with short clips of miko gtav ...then found uto..... First vtuber stream i watched ...got hooked ....after few weeks, learnt about hololive......then came selen ...then rpr....then indie vtubers....then ninisanji...wat im tryna say is cause of uto i found talented streamers with good content everyday and im forever grateful to her. Yea some fked up things happend in her past but ...the past is in the past... I don't really care about it ....wat i know is i enjoy uto's streams and hope that she returns one day.

If you looked at Nabi's request/commission requirement, you'll realise that Nabi don't accept independent/individual request. Which means, a random want-to-be-vtuber can't just message Nabi for commission. There's no way Uto by herself can just ask Nabi to create a character for her, unless it's by a corporation/company. In this case, it's the shadow company that actually made the 'Blue Ame' possible.

Well, we all make mistakes. Her's is just one of those examples. In the end what matters is that no one was really hurt in the case and that she acknowledged her mistakes and tried to remedy them. I was one of her early fans, having joined her streams in the first week of her debut. I actually enjoyed her streams. Not a lot of Vtubers can pull of being seiso while being interesting well but she was able to accomplish that quite well and that's one of the reasons I enjoyed her. Also, from what I remember, she's pretty much the first one who started and popularize Duolingo streams among the JP Vtubers. The fact that she was able to retain her viewers and subs unlike her other sisters from a different Agencies should be proof of that (of course I'm not saying those two are bad). Now I just miss her somewhat since her last stream was 2 months ago, but she seems to be doing fine as she was just busy with voice actor work. Wonder if we might hear her in an anime one day so I'm gonna keep an ear out.

Her mistakes don't even begin to feel slimy. Let's see, would you think it's wrong to do what your job told you to do, without knowing much about it. It's not like you care about your fans or channel yet. You probably aren't thinking about what is morally right and wrong in the contract (with keeping the company a secret and doing what they say for popularity). Even if you are thinking about that, the company says they "will use hololive meta tags to boost your subs and get you popular", you know very little about what you are doing, and they also say "just say you are indie, you have to it's in the contract." Again, even If she knew that it was kind of untrustworthy, I don't understand what is so slimy about that (besides the meta tags), if she or anyone enjoys hololive they usually would want to talk about it. Besides after going indie, it kind of seems like she held back when talking about a lot of topics that could be popular because she didn't want fans to think she was untrustworthy again. That's just anecdotal of course, but It seems she's very aware of how the internet works more now and wants to be genuine for her fans but is still caged by past mistakes. Being I wrote this super late, and it's been so long since her drama I'm probably forgetting a lot of details.

Is it just me, or does part of this seem like the algorithm's failing? It was probably because of the Ame tags that KZbin suggested Uto to me, and then hadn't seen her in suggestions for months... only now realizing the reasons why. But I'm glad she was suggested... while I don't like the idea of hijacking one person's follower list to promote another, (that has been done to me personally on other social media and is very annoying)... but in one way it did the algorithm's job better than the system itself.
