I can't really seem to understand the fanbase of AC. For years they were crying for not getting anything new, that there was no innovation. Now that we are getting some fresh air, people cry about it not being assassins creed. The game seems awesome. And also, why being so pessimistic about bayek? He might get a sequel some day. Origins was well received. The fact that he didn't got one right away doesn't mean that he won't have one
@silverpuma60816 жыл бұрын
panos kon it's the same with the whole yearly release thing, who's to say that only odyssey is coming out a year after origins and not the next game. And who's to say that the next game won't include bayek? I feel as tho ubi had this all planned out since they started on origins, but only time will tell, and ubi of course.

Lol. Play original AC games before judging the fan base. AC was always innovative with it's story, lore, setting, parkour, multiplayer,naval combat etc.There is nothing innovative about these new games, generic loot gathering RPG with dialogue choices and the naval combat has been done to death.

Just because the name Assassins Creed isnt slapped on the box doesent make it any different.

What i wanted to say is this: There can be no difference found in a game that is called Assassins Creed Odysee, or simply Odysee. If i call an apple a banana, it doesent make the apple all of a sudden a banana. Its still an apple. So what changed? I gave it a different name. Names are labels i give to something. It doesent change that something.

So Aya actually gets the hidden blade from Cleopatra and calls it "an ancient blade that killed the tyrant Xerxes". Well, the person that killed King Xerxes was the Persian assassin Darius. As the Assassin's Creed lore goes, it was Xerxes' assassination by Darius that was the first recorded use of the hidden blade, in 465BC. So they can possibly get the hidden blade

I hate that they did not continue the story of bayek in ACO with all the improvement they did to the mechanics why do they make a new protagonist and new storyline and new historical era and took "3 years" and reuse almost everything from the previous game and with just couple of improvement and nothing about assassin's creed or the templar is so disappointing
@jonruiz58856 жыл бұрын

@magnificent02156 жыл бұрын
Jon Ruiz because the templar and the assassin's Brotherhood began at the end of ACO and this new game is 400 Years before ACO so its far before the assassin's and templar were existed and we never heard from the game director in all of this reveal and the others videos talking about assassins and templar. And I saw a lot of videos to know how is the game going to play
@jonruiz58856 жыл бұрын
I mean proto-Templars, the Order of the Ancients. As the name says, it was way before Origins. But anyway someone said that looks like the Spartan are fighting for control and Athens for democracy, as history says, so maybe the protagonist, with a Piece of Eden, will not be a hero after all.
@MeadowBear996 жыл бұрын
How to ruin how Assassin's Creed works. 1. Give player a choice to "relieve" a memory as a male or female, even though that is an absolute physical and mental impossibility. Check. 2. Add dialogue choices even though in the past, an ancestor either did "that" or didn't. Check. 3. Give the game multiple endings, even though in terms of how Assassin's Creed works, there should be only one ending. Also, deny players certain parts of the story due to an important character duying or surviving thanks to a moronic RPG system, which does not enhance the overall story but rather keeps us from experiencing it fully like every other Assassin's Creed game; the story is the life blood of the AC franchise - what makes it stand out from all the rest. Check. 4. Make it a generic RPG and provide no logical reasoning for it that is in accordance to how Assassin's Creed works in order to justify it. Check. 5. Spend years setting up how Assassin's Creed and relieving memories work, to then suddenly twist it around into a deformity of an Assassin's Creed game. Check. 6. What. The. Actual. Fuck.

Okay anyone just answer me this. Assassin's Creed is nothing without the Animus Tech. The Last we saw in AC Origins, the Animus currently allows you to relive a person's memories directly through that person's DNA extractions. "Relive". AC Odyssey has dialogue options, multiple outcomes and endings. How Animus can do that when it can only show what has already happened? But instead it allows you to manipulate that person's memories through choices? Lol wut? That ain't Animus.
@sharodnowshadabdullah35986 жыл бұрын
It IS Animus. The official explanation of the Game Director regarding the ability to choose characters was that since Alexios and Kassandra are siblings, when reliving memories from the animus, there are two possible matches for the DNA of "Descendant of Leonidas". The continuity of the timeline after the choice however is unconfirmed as of now, which will probably be explained in the story and modern day segments. As for the dialogue choices, remember that this is at an early stage of recorded history, where many facts aren't set in stone. That allows them the freedom to craft the dialogue that benefits their campaign. Regarding the death of important characters, the developers took advantage of the undocumented and often mysterious fates of these characters in real life to allow for player choice. But major historical events and documented character deaths won't be changed. For example, even if you participate in the Pelopponesian war and make many different choices, the historical outcome of Sparta's victory won't change. The important choices in the game will revolve around fictional or undocumented/less documented characters, which will result in the multiple endings for YOUR storyline, not recorded historical events.

Gameplay-wise it’s moving away from stealth gameplay but that doesn’t mean it’s story can’t work within the AC universe. Bayek formed the hidden ones, which started the tradition of striking from the shadows. But what Odyssey can teach us about the first civilization can be very relevant. The hidden blade is of Greek origin so it does connect. It might not progress the conflict between templars and assassins but neither did Origins. I can see the franchise continue to evolve its gameplay also in future installments set after Origins but it would still be part of the same story. Only the franchise name wouldn’t match its gameplay. But it’s been 10 years, I think it’s good to evolve the gameplay formula beyond its original vision.

Origins looked great and combat was fun but the repetitive nature of its quests and lack of immersion made it hard for me to get through the main quest (and I only ended up exploring half the map). I wonder whether this game can make me truly invested in its world and characters like The Witcher did.
@Jan_ne6 жыл бұрын
I'm fine with it not being a classical AC game. It's a better solution than forcing some story about a brotherhood into a setting where it doesn't fit. They should return to AC like stories, though, when they make a game in a more recent setting

It's a little sad that they left the assassin gear. But I STILL have high hopes.

(theory)they're probably doing an ancient trilogy maybe(hopefully) where you start with bayek in ancient egypt with the origin story, odyssey as an overall fun game like black flag where lore is not involved much, then a third game in ancient rome where we return as bayek. We get a bayek sequel even though its not right after origins, and odyssey sets up another story for bayek to compelete.
@harshprakash24496 жыл бұрын
and the game maker has said they will take to Egypt,Greece and Rome so what if bayek come in Rome and he connected to alexios so that why they bring Greece first and Rome later

The "not being an assassins creed" point worries me the most its like they're taking ac features some lore & integrated it into a spartan rpg (tbh thry could've made it into a new ip tbh)...looks nice & all but im skeptical

The modern day needs to go back to Desmond format fast.

They said that they might do a trilogy of these games so it makes since to go before bayek. Next will be after bayek but that doesnt mean he will be completely removed from future games. I think the game looks awesome, nothing like ive seen before in assassins creed and i do miss the old mechanics but i think this game will be amazing despite the critics saying it "shouldn't be called Assassins Creed".

I think the point of Assassin's Creed is the conflict between freedom and control, and taking us back in history.

I compleatly agree with every thing you said and I don't like the talking bit because if you're reliving something that happend then how can you choose what to say???

This game is probably going to be about the origins of the Order of the Ancients, like how Origins was the origins of the Assassin's. I'm biased as shit, because I'm Greek. However, in the lore, we have the statements that Alexander the Great was given the staff of Eden and used it in his conquest, maybe this game will show off how we set that stage in motion. The order of the Ancient and the Templar ideal predates the brotherhood and the assassins/hidden ones. Maybe we'll the origins of the order.

Bro I felt what made assassins creed special was the magical aspects from the first civilization to weird Easter eggs like giant squids or headless horsemen so seeing this is pretty fucking awesome I couldn’t ask for more
@aaroncabral73796 жыл бұрын
I mean origins showed us when the brotherhood was formed but this game tells the story of its beliefs how the idea of protecting humanities freedom was born

From the E3 trailer, it already felt wrong. Ubisoft should have shelved AC and released this as a different title. It would have been awesome instead of being awesome but also spoiling AC in the same breadth.
@dcfencer87976 жыл бұрын
im actually glad in a way about it not being about brotherhood. I have always wanted an ancient Greece Sparta game, as a spartan soldier. so i feel focusing on that will work better for me and trying to fit the brotherhood and assassins into it wouldn't work as well for what i want out of an ancient Sparta/Greece game, but i get where thats not want some want

Their are three parts of Odysseys story Cult of Kosmos Your Odyssey/Finding your Family Atlantis The Cult connects to pieces of Eden and represents a form of the Templar And Atlantis literally connects to the modern day Assassin Brotherhood and Isu remember we go back into the lives of Assassins because the modern day Assassins are looking for pieces of Eden

Do you guys think that combat looks stupid with numbers flying, effects, health bar? It's weird for an AC game
@daffaaditya81186 жыл бұрын
Im dissapointed that you called this game not an AC game, while the plot is not even revealed yet
@Durinson16 жыл бұрын
How many time, will we have to say that???!!!! Hidden blades and hoods aren't what makes a game an assassin's creed. "It's not assassin's creed", how can you say that? Have you finished the game? Do you know the entire story? No, so don't say such thing! Assassin's creed rises the question of the battle between order and chaos, liberty and control. You don't need hiddens blades or hoods to have a good AC, just stop thinking a bout the first AC. Please, let the franchise evolve, we've seen enough classic assassin.
@NeilVanGotham6 жыл бұрын
I actually think this is an AC game. Assassin's Creed is not only about a hidden blade or a hood, it's also finding pieces of eden and protecting the innocent. There's still the modern day of Assassin's Creed. William Miles, remember? So, yeah, this is still an Assassin's Creed game and the developers chose to tell the tale this way.

This literally looks exactly like origins... I mean I'm definitely going to watch the story via free internet videos, because I can play the game on origins and it's the same experience. I just hope if they focus heavily on the first civilization and the gods and everything that I loved assassins creed for that mystery that was introduced in the first game will be at last solved.
@proudbandito6 жыл бұрын
Ok... people are saying that it’s not AC anymore and that they should call it something else like "The Odyssey" or something like that but, then the whole first civ stuff wouldn't make sense anymore and the story would need to be completely different... I think when people say stuff like "this shouldn't be named AC" they forget that there is a story that connects to the whole of AC, in this there is a heavy focus on the first civ wich is VERY important to AC as a whole, and we have Layla and the Modern Day... I think Ubi has a plan and that the writers know what they're doing.
@David-nq8cv6 жыл бұрын
Easy, change the first civ lore to Gods, like for Odyssey the spear could've been forged by God's and given to Alexios as a gift for bravery
@proudbandito6 жыл бұрын
Fernando Hmm okay, and the Modern Day?
@sohamsen98976 жыл бұрын
Ubisoft seems to have a talent for going in loops. They can make great(AC 2, Black Flag) as well as terribly disastrous stories(Unity, Syndicate). Ashraf did a great job with both AC IV and Origins. Ubi should have learnt by now that yearly releases do not work well. That Assassin's lore will definitely be embedded somehow, it has to(remember Black Flag, Edward Kenway wasn't an assassin). What I think Ubi realised was that if thy go too deep in the Assassin's lore they might not create a really good story which the fans(read : us) won't buy
@markonacfan45796 жыл бұрын
there are hoods. As for the story, and how it ties in with the assassins i think we have to wait. There is no way this cant be tied with the rest on some level
