Cyclops also has one of the most complicated and bizarre family trees of any other X-Men character as well. (Being the Father of Cable from a clone of his wife and having a daughter in an alternate universe, having two half-brothers who are part alien, Dad being a Space Pirate, etc.)

Scott's head is a portal to a dimension made of pure concussive force. His eyes serve as the exit point for the energies innsaid dimension. 2 members of his family's powers do work as you guessed though. Gabriel and Alex can both absorb, release and manipulate ambient energy.

I don't think us Americans thought Guile was the leader, growing up in the 90s most of my convos about street fighter involved us religiously butchering the pronunciation of "hadouken" and we spoke of Ryu , Ken, and Chun Li more than Guile.

I feel bad for Pete Rosas guy, he was probably saying things that Capcom developers were saying among themselves. "Oh, Marvel won't let us use Wolverine? (who was in every marvel capcom game until that point) then let's find a non-mutant wolverine-esque character then", but you don't say that to the fans because it sounds like you are on Marvel's side, and therefore agree with their ... petty... policies. Marvel themselves are smart, they went with gaslighting strategy "Mutants? What mutants? Marvel have mutants? Wol...ver... what? Never heard of him" That Capcom guy was just too honest. As a Street Fighter player, we do what he said automatically anyway. Like, okay this game doesn't have Zangief, who is Zangief-esque character I can play as? Etc. But I would not want the creator to insult Zangief and said his looks, his stories, his voice, are so replaceable it doesn't matter.

I checked on Google and he now works with Marvel entertainment directly and was a producer of Insomniac's Spider-Man game. I guess Marvel appreciated that he took the bullet for them.

They also tried to replace mutants with The Inhumans in the MCU, but the Inhumans TV show was terrible. Now that Marvel/Disney has full control of the X-Men characters again, they're doing the opposite: turning characters who were Inhumans in the comics into mutants. The first mutant introduced into the MCU was the current Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan (an Inhuman in the comics), who Marvel keeps pushing into their projects despite not being popular. They actually already had a Muslim mutant character named Dust, so this was completely unnecessary.

Funny thing is that Capcom toned down Cyclops as the subsequent releases ensued. However, he was still top tier. Imagine if we had the X-men vs Street Fighter version in latter releases, he probably would had been God tier.

One of the most baller things Cyclops did in the comics was beat up a gang of street toughs (with his eyes shut cause they'd knocked off his glasses) who'd accosted him while he was bringing home groceries. He did all the while counting his steps then retraced them to pick up his glasses. Total Badass Normal.

Pete obviously misses the point about what makes crossovers exciting in the first place. Fan favourites either battling it out or working together to accomplish their goals. Well, at least we have an explanation now for why characters such as Cyclops are missing entirely in newer entries and others such as X being treated so badly in favour of Zero.

That's what I remember. As much as I loved the games, even mvc 3, infinite just felt slow and constrained. In the other mvc games, you had space to work with, and could super jump off the screen, but infinite to me felt like the characters took up most of the screen and were in a tiny box. I could be very unfair to it, as I did not put any time in the game, but for as excited as I was to finally play as X, I dropped it almost inmediately.

Now Marvel won't even call them X-Men in the MCU, calling their upcoming movie "The Mutants", because the term "X-Men" is sexist or some nonsense. And in the comics, the X-Men are basically villains now -- isolationists that live on their own Mutants-only island. Completely opposite of the Humans and Mutants living together that Cyclops espoused in these Capcom games. 14:28 Marvel's Captain Marvel has never been popular. She's only noteworthy as being the source of Rogue's super-strength and flight powers. Rogue had previously been a villain, and had used her mutant ability to drain Ms. Marvel (as she was known then) of her powers and put her into a coma. This was depicted in an episode of the cartoon. Their Captain Marvel comic only exists so they can retain the trademark on the title Captain Marvel and prevent DC from using it. The original Captain Marvel is the character that DC recently renamed to Shazam. Decades ago, DC sued the original owners of Captain Marvel, claiming he was too similar to Superman. The cost of that lawsuit caused Captain Marvel's owners to stop publishing his comic. DC later ended up acquiring the rights to the character, but in the years before, Marvel had created their own Captain Marvel and trademarked the name, preventing DC from using it as the title of their comic book. DC could still call their CHARACTER Captain Marvel, but that name could not appear on the comic book cover due to Marvel now owning the trademark. But if Marvel stops publishing a comic titled "Captain Marvel" for long enough, they'll lose the trademark and DC could swoop in and take it. So Marvel just keeps making a Captain Marvel comic despite not many people buying said comic, with different characters taking on the mantle of Captain Marvel.

The REAL reason the xmen didnt play a bigger part in MVC3 MVCi was because at the time Fox owned the movie rights to xmen and Disney is a petty vindictive company. Unfortunately if they were to make another MVC, it would be female thor, iron heart, ms marvel, female hawk eye, black widows sister, etc

Ridiculous! Anything Scott did with Jean, Jean did as well. White Queen and Scott had no real issues. Madelyne Pryor is the major issue, and even then the whole "abandoned to be with Jean thing is not accurate. I get the feeling most people who say these things read articles but not the comics. Typically, this is just Wolverine baiting. you are correct though on the fact that he is an excellent character to play!

That's crazy! I never realized why the roster kept changing with new uninteresting characters. They are just trying to advertise subliminally for their damn movies. I could see fan favorites like fat Thor or peter quill being part of it, but at the cost of old favorites? I grew up playing quarter arcades at a doughnut shop and going to bowling alleys and arcades like the college arcade on Vermont. It was awesome to see x men fighting street fighter characters. So Disney is to blame for removing the mutants from that beloved franchise. No wonder the last 2 games didn't seem as good as the original 2.
