1. Edward was built in 1896, not 1898 2. Even though thomas is N⁰1, he actually arrived way later on the railway, he arrived after edward and even after henry and gordon, the reason thomas is #1 is because he was the FIRST engine bought by the railway, edward is #2 because he was the 2nd engine bought The order is based on when they were bought If the order of numbers was based off the order of arrivals it would look something like this Edward #1 Henry #2 Gordon #3 Thomas #4

@Cosmosarmorevan you mean "Hiro", hiro was not actually bought by the NWR, he just...stayed on sodor, his #51 is actually a reference to his class, hiro is based off a D51 class, so they took the "51" from the class name and made it his number

@Cosmosarmorevan (barrow is a railway station located in "barrow-in-furness" in the UK and it's where sodor connects with the mainland, it got bombed at the starting of WW2 by German bomber planes which made it a victim of "the blitz", the blitz was a period in WW2 where German bomber plains hovered over the UK and dropped several bombs exploding many areas, anyways, after bring bombed barrow station was rebuilt into a totally difrent design and barrow is still around to this day)
