The story of 'FK1' - Freak cactus!

Hi everyone!
In this video I share with you the crazy cactus that is Astrophytum myriostigma 'FK1'
The original plant was grown from seed by me.
I began propagating this plant a few years ago and quickly noticed that it would produce all kinds of new forms which have remained stable over time.
It has been a lot of fun seeing all the new forms appear and I am super excited to be able to share this plant with other cacti collectors.
There will be 1 available on the store and 1 other will be a prize for a competition I am running through the store.

That's an awesome Astrophytum. Have you tried breeding this one to any other Astros?

Yes I have, FK1 does produce seed but in very low numbers and many flowers do not form seeds. I will need to check my seedlings to see if any germinated.

Hmmm, I have this same form - just bought it from a cacti grower in Florida. Did you end up selling to someone in the US? Otherwise this seems to be a stable form that exists elsewhere! Very funky indeed.

Hello, No, I do not sell plants internationally. These have only been sold within Australia, it would be quite the journey if one somehow ended up the US! Did it come with the name FK1?
