We have used Fortified Cottonseed for several years now in Central Texas and have had great results with our deer herd!

Enjoyed the video. I was curious about feeding cottonseed to deer and found this. After watching...went to your dealer locator and discovered my local Tractor Supply carries the product. I live right here in West Texas, and was able to get my cottonseed feeder set up today, and thankfully with product in stock, i now have an additional supplemental food in place. Wanted to do this now before the spring growth gets going. Hoping i can acclimate them over the next month or so.

Started my herd on it this year, put a bag in and then about 10ths of corn, another bag, and more corn until I had about 4 bags total out and it took about 2 weeks before I noticed they were really starting to eat it and now they fight over it. We had a very small fawn, looked like her mom was bred late and she really likes it and she is catching up to the older fawns quickly because she started eating it a few weeks before they did and it shows. Great product!

I heard that the cottonseed you cannot feed them this close to the right because it messes with their breathing. Is this true

You just leave it open to the rain and humidity?

Yes, we used 2 t posts and 48 inch tall field fence, you can get smaller diameter holes in the fence but we opted for the larger so they could get to the cent of it easier and it’s worked great. I used a protein tub lid to keep some of the moisture off of it when it snows and rains but it doesn’t seem to bother it at all and the deer just keep eating it.
