Is there anyway to get soybeans to germinate without a no till drill? I have an area that would be great for beans but there is no way I can get a drill up the hill that is very steep.

Russell - Sure! It's very important to ensure the beans make good contact with the soil and it rains soon after they are planted. Be sure it's a large field (several acres) as beans don't handle browse pressure well.

Another great and helpful video, thank you! I here in Maine just planted my Fall release blend from GreenCover seed. I only have about 1/3 of an acre opened up in some Big Maine Woods. It has been a little over a week and the crop is growing way better than anything I have planted before so far. My question for you is because here in Maine we have such a short season of growing. The first frost here is around October 1st and the soil temp does not get to 65 till late May or early June, so next season should I plant a summer release blend or the Spring release blend and then plant the Fall one again in July?

Given that each year is different, that may depend, but you can likely get away with only planting during the fall.

Hey Grant, its September 7th and no rain in the forecast for Central Southern Missouri... how late is too late to plant the Fall Release from Green Cover? Starting to get concerned, but still waiting patiently. Thanks for all the great info you provide!

I've planted in October. It didn't grow much during the fall (came on strong during the spring) but better than planting during a drought and all the seed dying. We are about 1/2 way planted - and have received 0.8" of rain recently! Hoping for more rain this weekend!

@@GrowingDeerTV At this point late September or early October looks realistic. I'm in Mtn. Grove and of course the rain that came through last night didn't even get close... Hard to look at 20 acres of seed sitting in the corner of the barn, but better than drilling it into dry concrete like ground! Thanks for the info!!
