Who is The braver Sikhs, Rajpoot, Marathas or Pathan?? Pathan’s are the only tribe in the world which has resisted every occupying force so ferociously that the occupying force has just not been able to subdue . While the Sikhs after a feeble attempt started serving the British content in giving up their lives for British, And the Pathans refused to bow down to the British. Sikhs were content in being led by the British while Pathans were only content in ruling. That is the main difference. All the famed martial races of India were content being ruled by the British while the Pathans prefered to die than be ruled by an external power. The british lost 16000 people when they first tried to invade Afghanistan because they felt the Pathans like the famed martial races of India would accept their superiority if they were adequately paid but that did not work out. Once that did not work they sent Marathas and Sikhs to fight their war. Sikh and Marathas died fighting for British, the people who had opressed them no end.. Regarding the notion that Pathans wear shalwar kameez because they were scared of the Sikhs is atrocious because the Sikhs were anyway only able to conquer upto Jamrud (With the help of 70% Punjabi Muslim army+Top Muslims & European Generals and also Empire of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Were fully backed by Britishers and many European Powers). It was in Jamrud where Hari Singh Nallua got beheaded and killed by A teenage Pathan Kid sent by Wazir Akbar Khan and that was the end of Ranjit Singh Empire's victory over the Pashtuns so saying Hari Singh Nallua ruled Afghanistan is wrong. Also note that sikhs suffered their 2 holocoust at the hands of Pashtuns one in 1762 and another in 1746 so frankly if one talks about who succeeded more in battles, it is Pashtuns. However that is not the reason I say Pashtuns are braver, the test of bravery is when you have to courage to fight for what you think is right, Sikhs meekly supported the British infact fighting against Indian rebels in the sepoy mutiny and fighting against Pashtuns for the english while the Pashtun through out history has only fought for himself and Their honour. India has produced some heroes like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekar Azad, Netaji Bose but among Pashtuns such personalities were common. That is why no matter how much Bollywood may want to glorfy Saragahi for Sikhs to not Raise the voice about Khalistan and not to be very friendly with Pakistani Punjabi People.. And Infact, the Pashtun fought for freedom while the Sikh Bow down to Britishers and fought for them. And for this reason alone the majority of votes goes to the Pashtun for bravery..Yes they are a poor, backward race but they are a race who have supported their own more than any Indian race. hence I don’t think there is any comparison in bravery between Pashtuns and any Indian Race, Pashtuns are far superior when it comes to bravery.

With due respect, please re-read the history before that peshawar was controlled by Afghans but after conquering, it became the part of Sikh empire. After independence in 20th century that peshawar(earlier controlled by Afghans) goes to Pakistan. If Peshawar was not captured by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, it could be a part of today’s Afghanistan.

One more thing Pathan didn’t kill him in hand to hand combat, they shot him by hiding themselves. Even after shots they didn’t fight and flew from there. Hearing rumours of Hari Singh nalwa’s alive, they didn’t attack Jamrud for few days. I’m not disrespecting anyone but please recheck the facts.
