Yes I remember the late Vice President Akaa on a state broadcast telling Ghanaians how he was physically assaulted by our late Prez Rawlings. Among the ministers who resigned from their the party or ministerial positions was that beautiful Honorable Emma Mitchel. Because most of them were scared of Papa J they never spoke openly about it. Did they really watch-on in helplessness? Didn't the women present at the meeting scream and cry for help. That was horrific and history History is a judge.

Paul, a very excellent narration of history, but let’s speak truth to power; Obed Asamoah’s rendition of the “fight” between Rawlings and Arkaah is a sanitized version. The truth is Rawlings assaulted Arkaah, which was consistent with the bullying tactics of Rawlings. Obed Asamoah himself has a history of being economical with the truth.

I visited the Veep after that unfortunate incident. I got firsthand info from him, and I saw his torn suit . A very low point in our history.

Interesting stuff from obed asamoah. There is somehow an omission by the writer. At the said cabinet meeting that Rawlings is said to has fallen down with Ackah, Mrs. Emma mitchel then a cabinet member came out to deny it and said, Rawlings rather assaulted his vice. Ackah later made a formal complaint to the police. Again why was obed asamoah quiet when the story broke out? He should hv been Frank and sincere to speak thr truth
@kwaananse64242 жыл бұрын
The story teller explained why Obed Asamoah was quiet about the fight. He explained that the reputation of the country was paramount. This makes sense, especially in the shoes of Obed as foreign minister.

was it good for the then president to beat up his vice? Was md mitchel was intelligent enough to hv spoken like truth? When obed kept mute what was the outcome? It rather escalated the problem culminating in Ackah and his NCP forming an alliance with the NPP for the 1996 elections

Great job!I think the 'Mansa Musah history' we learnt in the 70s should be augmented by these near-current ones. It brings what's hapoening,politically now into focus!

This bias Npp journalist will not talk about how Ghanaians are suffering under this current regime,but he will divert attention of people with this unnecessary history which has no relevance in the lives of Ghanaians now.Im not surprised because he is being paid by the current administration,what do we expect him to do,criticize the government? Surely not!!
