Respect your efforts in making and putting this video up. Very well done. I came from researching LED manufacturing process, and I then look for more info on ITO material. This video explaining ITO material just hit every question I have in mind. I definitely have learned what is ITO well from this video. The energy band gap explanation is pretty neat. Truly science and material discussion here. An extension to talk about material substitution is also thoughtful part. Thanks. Keep it up. 😊👍💯🌟👌🚦

Not sure if this is an accurate definition of the fermi level in semiconductors. I might be wrong though. Can anyone explain this to me in a slightly different way? everything else was amazing though!

That’s a great question! In discrete molecules where there is no long range order it makes sense to think about energy levels in terms of individual orbitals. You will often hear organic semiconductors described with terms LUMO (lowest unoccupied molecular orbital) and HOMO (highest occupied molecular orbital) because when excited by light this is the relevant transition. In crystalline semiconductors, electrons are in a periodic lattice with a large number of hybridized orbitals. The allowed energy states are so numerous and close together that they form an energy ‘band’ where and electron can essentially occupy any energy level within it.
