I’m definitely a nerd when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I like to think I know more about military equipment than most regular people but I always learn something from these videos. Love the channel!

Great video. Kamov had also offered a tandem pilot configurated variant, called Ka-50-2 Erdoğan, to Turkey. This name makes me smile.

Small point: Two propellers/rotors on a single shaft, rotating in opposite directions are considered "contra-rotating". A twin-engine aircraft (for example) that has one propeller rotating clockwise and the other rotating counterclockwise has counter-rotating propellers. Cheers! 🙂

Ka-52 has some features that has no equivalent elsewhere but it still has need better features in some areas. Regardless, it's the second best looking helicopter in my opinion.

5:28 nothing... *is explosion proof sir. Otherwise, why not make the entire cockpit out of rubber and fiber material?* It's probably explosion resistant. I personally guarantee that if struck in that gas tank by a shaped charge, and the plasma jet hits the kerosene? You're going to have a very bad day. Great videos, love your channel!! *respect* from ☀️😎☀️🇺🇸

Is the 30mm cannon longer than Apache‘s ?
@WeaponDetective3 жыл бұрын
We could not find any reliable information about the barrel length of the 30mm gun used in Apache. However, the extended barreled version of this gun has a barrel length of 1.524 mm. The Ka-52's 2A42 gun has a barrel length of 2.416 mm.

Why can't you skip the totally unnecessary "literally" from your comment? And Kamov does make a non-coaxial model, the Ka-60 (military) and Ka-62 (civil) which is similar to the Airbus Helicopters Dauphin.
