Kmart failed to update/renovate their stores over the years after Eddie Lambert took over. Eddie Lambert didn't care, all he was interested was the real estate. He ruined Sears and Kmart

It goes back before Lambert. Fauber misjudged the customer and Antonini started it down a path of diversification from which the company could never recover.

Lambert sold profitable store locations for fast cash as Kmart owned a lot of buildings. Eddie then sold buildings and rented them back to the Company through his Real Estate venture. Eddie also failed to pay vendors , kicked out vendors , and felt part time workers at minimum wage would take the place of Full Time employees. Just a few ways Kmart went under. Eddie also sold all of Sears name brands before the last bankruptcy.

I used to like Kmart. They had a super k mart in my town in 2001. They also had another location in which I bought furniture for my studio apartment.

I worked at at a Kmart in Chicago in 78-79. It was a lot of fun, especially during the Christmas season.

I also remember they had a little carousel that took quarters out in front of the store I used to go on it when I was a kid and they also had to vending machines and they had a rocking horse that took a quarter to use they even had pay phones

Everyone went to a Kmart! I had fond memories of our local Kmart now its just a distant memory.

I remember everytime me and my parents shopped at Kmart in the 1980s they always have their blue light special sales, would go into their electronics department for children's records and phonograph needles, buy food and snacks and clothes and most importantly in 1995 I bought my Michael Jackson HIsToRY double CD set I miss Kmart so much Yeah, they had it bad and they had it good

I worked for Kodak for 30 years and during much of that time Kmart was the companies largest account in the world.

We had a Kmart in my town and unfortunately it ended up closing in the early 2000s it sucked I miss Kmart a lot it was an awesome store the first or we lost in our town was Ames and Ames closed up and then McDonald's closed and then Kmart left and then Big lot left not far after Kmart was a very good store they had Lele that helped people at low-income still get stuff they had awesome closed I remember when I was a kid going around looking at the tools and automotive section when my mom used to go clothes shopping and I also remember looking at the bikes looking at the tables and looking a certain kitchen table and I said when I win the lottery I'm going to buy this table and I also remember looking up the lawn & garden section just all the good stuff Kmart had they even had discounted clothes all the time good deals Kmart was an awesome store and unfortunately I wish I could find one that was still open today but unfortunately there are none we used to travel an hour-and-a-half to still go to a Kmart in unfortunate that one close to the first one was right near us but that sound everything was

Remember, Kmart is not totally out of business, they still have some remaining in select markets in the USA. Also, there is a separate and very successful Kmart found in Australia and New Zealand. Here are all of the non liquidating Kmarts in the USA and US territories as of September 26, 2021: 1. Tauming, Guam 2. Grass Valley, California 3. Key West, Florida 4. Miami, Florida 5. Hamilton, Montana 6. Avenel, New Jersey 7. Westwood, New Jersey 8. Bridgehampton, New York 9. Bronx, New York (The Shops at Bruckner) 10. Bronx, New York (Bay Plaza Shopping Center) 11. Hato Rey, Puerto Rico 12. St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (Sunshine Mall) 13. St. Croix, U.S Virgin Islands (Sunny Isle Shopping Center) 14. St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (Tutu Park Mall) 15. St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center). Liquidating Kmarts that are temporarily still open are 1. White Plains, New York 2. Brooklyn, New York (located on the ground floor of a liquidating Sears) and 3. Marshall, Michigan

9 stores are left in the US division, 3 in the mainland USA 6 in the territories. New York, New Jersey, and Florida are the only states left with a Kmart. With Puerto Rico Guam, and the US Virgin Islands . With the said Islands the only multiple locations left in the division.

Worked there in a Chicago 1993 remodeled store and it was still ghetto with yellow floor tiles they would replace daily after the remodel. Those ugly shop lights was a 1970’s thing. They deserve what they got crappy, dirty, ugly dated stores. Even as soon as 2005 who said I go to Kmart .
