I remember seeing them in Vacaville back when I was still in high school. My friends band used to play shows with with at the community center there.... Still remember the first time I heard this song, they performed it live and those of us from Napa were all like who the hell is this band?! They shouldn't be playing a community center.... It was not too long after we saw them as headliners for huge tours. Glad to see they are still down to earth people who never forgot where they came from. Great story here.

I lived in VV from 2001-2004 I remember seeing them at 3 oaks community center and Steelhead stadium (Travis credit union park now). They were friends with Die Trying, another great short-lived band from that area and time. In 2004/2005 I started playing guitar in metal bands and eventually got to play some of the same venues as the bands I came up watching. Miss the good ol days!

I saw them in 2013 at my first concert, Carnival of Madness Tour. They were really good, Jacoby loves his fans and loves to entertain, bless him! Same for the rest of his band! ❤️

If they weren't poor and homeless, they more than likely never would of moved to that area and therefor never met the members and formed 'Papa Roach'... Who knows the alternate outcome if he didn't lose/get his base stolen. 2 things that seemed like the worst things imaginable (losing a instrument for a poor budding musician is terrible) set them all on the course of achieving the greatest thing to ever happen to them... While I hate what happened to his friend, without that tragedy 'Last Resort' would of never been written, which may of led to them not being discovered, definitely not over nigh and being the sole reason they got signed at the time. Would they of eventually made it anyway? Probably, but I don't think they'd be as big without that song.. Not because they dont deserve to be huge without that song, but that song went around the world and back, I don't think their career trajectory would of been remotely the same without it. Take note from his life scenario, when you or your family appear to be down and out and like life can't get any worse, it could be those moments in time that leads you to the greatest opportunities and completely change you and your families life. It'd be simple if we could see the outcome of different scenarios/decisions, but unfortunately all we have is hindsight, so when things get their worst, keep pushing through to the other side and putting in work in whatever it is you do/love, you never know when it's your time but you will not get there without putting in the effort, that's a fact. I'd rather look back in hindsight knowing I have it everything I had and it just didn't work out, vs looking back with abunch of 'what if's', leave no stone unturned and don't fold to the curveballs that life can (and will) throw at you, it's only a test.
