I loved this game when it came out. Me and a school friend were big fans of the series, I loved Raziel and he thought Kain was the coolest so we played the game taking turns, he played Kain's parts and I played Raziels parts, it was awesome.

I think the reason Kain didn't die was simply because Razial had the reaver baptized which summoned all the souls and Kain soul was still in his body at the time.

I've been mulling over this point for a minute and while I don't necessarily agree with it, it definitely has some good merit. I would argue that Raziel had not yet baptized the blade by the time he tried to kill Kain, but a fair argument to that would be that when he did baptize the reaver, it summoned all the souls throughout the timeline, so as long as Raziel and Kain were in a timeline at all where that was to happen (which they were by defiance) then Kain's soul could respond to that and be preserved from what would have been the past. It's a bit too vague and lacking allusion for me to want to agree with that analysis, but I can't ignore it. Well observed!

i actually have a much easier reason for how kain survived the Kalima. when raziel ripped the heart from kain he was literally in the process of being absorbed by the Blood Reaver. When the Blood reaver tried to absorb him in SR2 and kain pulled it from him it caused a paradox so its a reflection of how kain saved raziel. that literal moment that raziel was being absorbed and when he yoinked the heart kains surviving is the paradox that was created

Basically, Amy wanted to work on lara croft, but Crystal wanted her to do another lok game. She ended up leaving crystal for naughty dog to do Uncharted instead.

It's difficult to say. I definitely enjoy doing story summaries, and if i were to continue to do so, I'd probably prefer to do older more standalone story based games. Something like Summoner or Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption come to mind. But I'll have to figure that out.
