Breaking Bad was amazing and so was this season of Fargo.

Lester followed Malvo into that elevator because, in a twisted way, he looked up to Malvo. He was a teacher that taught Lester the greatest rule of all: There are no rules. In a way, he's even grateful for Malvo helping him to actually be a man. Unfortunately, Malvo was at the time, not at liberty to explain to Lester that he is on business. Because of how Lester's head had grown too big, he is only capable of taking this as an insult, rather than thinking really hard and remember the kind of creature that Malvo is.

We all knew that Billy Bob Thornton was capable of a performance as good as the one he delivers in Fargo. But Martin, despite not putting a foot wrong in any of the roles he's played, even dramatic ones like John Watson, had yet to deliver a dramatic tour de force as the central protagonist. In Fargo, he not only delivered it, he took it upstairs, put it to bed and tucked it in. A fantastic job, note perfect.

John eventually grew tired of Sherlock and his crazy antics and moved to lovely and peaceful Minnesota. Its_only_martin What I could never work out is why he insisted on following Malvo into that elevator? what was he possibly hoping to achieve? In fact, why did Malvo decide to do Leicesters dirty work for nothing in return in the first place? Was it some kind of pro bono assassination?

+noonecaresaboutgoogle+ It's because Malvo likes to push people to their darker side, like the devil. He wants to see people go to their animal instincts, which is why he recorded moments of people doing bad things. And also why he had the evil smile in his final moments when Gus was forced to kill him, Gus was pushed to his animal instinct to survive(with the wolf as symbolism). It makes sense because he asked the question "Why do humans see more shades of green than any other color". The answer from Molly was because humans needed to survive, but the real answer to the question that Gus figured out was because humans needed to hunt.

And then shit went south and Pearl let rip a shit ton of hurtful things and I was sort of hoping he'd kill her. And then he did and all of a sudden it's flipped and it's like "Holy shit why would you do that?" Weird how emotionally involving this show managed to be right from the get go. Lester’s biggest mistake was to encounter malvo again after getting away from a horrible past in the elevator scene otherwise his life would’ve been a fresh start and instead of being thankful to have a break free persona imposed upon him due to malvo’s influence he decided to let the narcissism control the behaviour.I guess it was meant to happen because evil deeds has consequences not to mention when lorne said,“it’s on you”.Martin Freeman totally nailed the character. @@AminCad Whereas if you live and act in the right way, the world becomes a better place. Would we have all the manifold comforts, cures, and colossal improvements over the past if we all behaved like Lester? No. In fact, it's been more or less proven that a high-trust society is *required* for a high-functioning economy. That trust, that economy, and all the things we do with it? Those are the things that will save your life when you get sick, save your children from a lifetime of slavery, and save the human race by eventually creating a civilization across many worlds and even many stars. In fact, if the Milky Way is empty, and we as a species took the next step to look outward...settling and terraforming the galaxy could be fewer years in the future from now than the Sumer is in the past. Maybe less than the birth of Imperial Rome. Rules matter; this is one reason why, and perhaps not even the most powerful positive consequence we could get from abiding within the social contract.

The whole concept of rules is just control over the lower collective. If an average joe breaks the rules he’ll suffer the consequences. I think it’s more about who can break the rules, because frankly the world seems to be run by people who constantly bend and break em..profiting off our suffering, killing people via expensive drug prices and military operations and then you have the exploitation of underaged girls on Epstein’s island..the only ones who can break the rules are the ones who make them and as Carlin said it’s a big club and you’re not in it.
