The Man The Legend...Lin Dan! I always loved the matches between LD & LCW

I don't think those "little did he know " imply here. When you're as talented as these guys, and you've been working as hard as they do for their whole life, then you DO KNOW and believe that you are or will become the best at what you do. And it's almost like they manifest it

Interesting perspective!

Not true, there was a BWF interview video where he said he was shocked when he joined the state team. There were a lot of players more talented than him he said.

u think the best is the one who work the hardest? dont u think theres not other athletes who work as hard if not harder than Lin Dan? its not a mere hardwork, theres providence and luck ;)

Very weird thing to harp on tbh, little did he know has never really been a super impactful statement and is usually just utilized when empathizing something more important. But nevertheless, you chose to focus on it for some reason as if there was a deeper meaning lmao. Just chill out brother

Lin, I consider him the greatest because of his style, technique,it's so beautiful to see him play.

The legend. Once he reached his physical prime.... unbeatable! In his prime, if the score is close, it's like he has an extra two or three gears compared to the opponent and just seems to score at will. Also has the best anticipation of any singles players I've seen. 2008 Olympic final is still the best performance I've ever seen for men's singles.

Interestingly, 2014 was actually the best season by lin dan record wise with 38 wins out of 40 matches. He also shouldn’t have played the 2013 World Championships because after the olympics in 2012, he stopped playing and dropped rankings but got a wild card entry (which was not granted in 2014). I find it funny how he single handily rendered the world rankings obsolete. He was ranked as low as 286th in 2013 in the world championships and just randomly showed up rusty and casually won.
@joonaskuusisto2767 Жыл бұрын
Pretty much, that is absolute domination. He already made history by winning back to back OG and then shows up cold and wins WC one more time.

Won the london olympics -> Wanted to retire coz he has achieved everything -> took a pretty much a year off instead -> showed up at the world championship as a wild card -> won the chip and beat the world #1 in the final 😂 -> took another 5-6 months off -> didnt get the world championship entry this time -> decided to beat the world champion in the asian games instead and showed to the world that he is still by far the best player in the world These stuffs will never be replicated The Greatest badminton player of all time He did what Michael Jordan failed to do
@CannabutterMD6 ай бұрын
@@FACTSONLY186MJ was too old on his 2nd comeback at 38, his first comeback was good since he 3peated. Though if Lin Dan kept playing LCW achievements wouldn’t be as stacked as it is
@FACTSONLY1866 ай бұрын
@@CannabutterMD no, what i meant was his first comeback in 1995. After he missed 1 and half season, he came back for like 17 games to go or so. Pretty much he came back just for the playoffs, just like lin dan did in 2013 (a year off and showed up at the WC) and MJ failed to win that one

Lin Dan is because of Lee Chong Wei. Both pushed the bar high. I really liked to watch Lin and his pacing in the sets

Gaid???? And what unrelated pictures doing in here, like picture of the Chinese basketball team. When speaking of each year tournaments you also use the wrong pictures altogether. It's not that far off in the past, the pictures are still available.

It's sad that badminton isn't as globally popular as tennis cause Lin Dan in an ideal world should be just as well known as Federer, Djokovic, Nadal etc but he's not and it's because badminton is mostly confined to Asia sadly

"arguably" the most successful ? I don't think there's any argument ... no one's remotely close to his achievements, not even the older 60s, 70s, 80s etc generations in history ....
