Why would anyone build a fortress so high up in a plateau with no escape route? why do the Romans need to fight the rebels? They just need to seal off the road and cut off the supply.

Easy to say..the women didn't want to be raped thousands of times by being sex slaves..I don't blame them .any woman would want to do that .just less than 10 years ago a western tourist jumped down from her hotel in North India when three men barged I'm her hotel.she said she afteid of being raped.and that was their intention.

It dis surely looked different when I as a volentair worked at Masada late 1964, under the supervising of Gideon (what did happened to him?) and than later as a guide at the Masada exhibition in Stockholm, Swden 1974, when Yigal Yardin turned up, pointed out that it was a part of Tanach as I found near the Snake pass, NOT a page of Jerusalem Post as I than thought...
