My late father had both the W126 and W140. But my heart will always be on the first. Robust and extremely comfortable for long journeys, speedy too. It's strong chassis and coach work amazes me to this day. One morning, he hit a light pole on the passenger side and it was badly crumpled. Despite the severity of the crash, he managed to drive it home safely - 10km away. Had it fixed and it's still with the family...

When you think of the W116,126,& the W140 those were elegant comfortable, cars of the time, they have something that makes them special, not all people of those era*s could go to buy one, mostly, important people, dignitaries are the ones that were seen driving or being chauffeured around in one of the so many models, now almost anybody can go and buy a Mercedes, in one of the many models, not like before.

What we can't associate the W07 and W150 with the S-class? I think it is possible. If not with the S-class then what can they be associated with?

Now they are basically a mass production company they have lost their character.

@@AlfaGuy2 yes now they have gone soft there are mercedes just with amg badge the mercedes does not have perfermance upgrade unlike in 80s and 90s or early 2000

Even back then they offered just bodykits, and I don't have a problem with that. My problem is that the old ones were really built by hand plus they didn't had to comply with any Mercedes regulations.
