I thought the piglin story began with the ancient builders sending pigs to the nether for an experiment, terraform the nether with mutant mushrooms, pigs eating netherwart and mutated/evolved, took revenge on the humans for using them, a disease transformed them to zombies, and now has said that they were down their for sentries. I've been watching more scientific studies
