Him being an all american boy is such a double edged sword.. that aspect of his identity plays a big role on getting trump and media to be more proactive of his safety. Yet it also makes him the perfect candidate of hatred by north korea and thus the one chosen to be framed

He was 100 percent framed and scripted and forced to say things during that conference. The report was recorded not live. So if he said anything they didn't approve of or spoke about what was going on with him they would have never got his voice out and probably done more to him. It's just a joke to north Korean military. So the footage was not Otto his stature is completely different from how he looks. The things that North Korea even stated for him to say during the conference were things that they them self don't like. Which makes it more obvious. His treatment there was bad to say the least.

I don't think it was him in the footage. But even if it is him, the "trial" is still too unfair for it to really matter. By the way, for me the main reason why I would never go to North Korea is that I would feel incredibly wrong giving money to that government and then having a nice vacation all the while being aware what is happening outside of that hotel. I mean there aren't any small business owners you could support while being there. Your travel money would go to those top people. And of course it's a dangerous to go there too. Not putting any blame on Otto here though. Nothing but sympathy for him and his family.
