As an operating room health worker, this case fucked me up so much! But to answer Sebs question, no, if there's somebody that CANNOT leave the room, is the anesthesiologist. At all. Unless another anesthesiologist or a CRNA is in the room. Surgeons sometimes can go out if it's a long surgery and they need a break, but no longer than 15 mins and there's always a nurse and the surgical tech in the room, and the surgeon's assistant, they can't take a break at the same time, so... SO MUCH is wrong in this case. It's crazy.

Also, the nurse that just puts a mascara on INSIDE the OR??? The OR should be sterile all the time. Like wtf??
@treubaking5 ай бұрын
@@bananabong8928Right? I’m not a doctor or anything, but i’m 15 and I know that mascara contains seriously strong waxes and oils that make it stick to your lashes so well. Imagine you get that on anything and you’re touching an open body! And you’re using the same fingerprints from the last time you used that mascara which I think is still an unsterile space.

@@treubaking right! My brother is a Doctor and he says that if they touch anything other than the instruments for surgery, they have to hand wash again and get new gloves and PPE's. He says to avoid touching everything that's not needed for surgery even your face. If something itches, the nurse on stand by will scratch it for you

I'm from a small Pacific island. When a family member visits you after death, we never called it mother's intuition. That's a family member letting the one closest to them that they have died. We call it "visit". When my mom died, my older sister told us that mom visited her. When I was 17, we visited my older sis in Hawaii. We were in the livingroom when a loud noise banged on the wall. My sister said, "Someone died at home." She called home. Our first cousin just died. He visited my sis and let her know. I think because I've always been a scaredy-cat of ghost stories, I never allowed myself to be open to it. I automatically tend to logically explain strange things that happens or just 100% refuse to acknowledge it. One time, I heard my sister's voice calling my name from the passenger back seat while I was driving... I darn know well 100% that when I got into my car that morning, there was only me, myself & I in that car! Nope. I completely ignored that voice. Eek!!!

I can't remember what it was called, but I had a massive surgery to break my jaws and mouth due to an overbite and realign them by a famous doctor here. I was told by him later that what was supposed to be a 2, maybe 3 hr procedure to just boop boop done, turned into 8. He thought it would just be a realignment like normal but he found that when he opened me up, it was worse than just an overbite, my right side was shattered and didn't heal right from it (Army injury way back), it was also unhinged from the joint that was messed up so my jaw was also heavily tilted off center and lots more. He ended up filling my face with a lot of plates and screws just to get it normal before he could reinforce the rest. I also had complications with vitals during it all. Luckily, I didn't have to pay more than I already did since neither of us knew (and he's an awesome doctor) but he worked his ass off to basically reconstruct my whole face, nose and grafted my chin because of the way he had to break it, there was a gap and he filled it. Side effect was that because they had to cut that lil nerve thing inside the lower lip where it connects to the jaw, I no longer feel my lower lip or chin area so had to relearn how to eat and drink and come up with cheat ways to make sure it doesn't spill. He was so upset, and I had to reassure him it was fine because he did the job and stuck to it and got it done. I also remember telling him and the anesthesiologist that they had to be on their game with the drugs because I have a history of the drugs going through my body quickly (like within 30 mins to an hr) or I'll wake up. I'm also on blood thinners, heart and seizure meds which I had to stop before surgery and have low blood pressure as well as low blood oxygen levels already, so any type of surgeries are incredibly dangerous and this wasn't some cosmetic surgery. Was mandatory for health. I lost a ton of blood, and they were on it like white on rice. I can't imagine having some rando come in during some supposed to be light surgery into very intense with so many risk factors (plus was peak Covid 2020 and I was 30) touching me like it was nothing. I'd be horrified and already worried about bleeding out during the many ones I've had for health. That's insane. He had to already revive me once, I can't imagine just laying there, open and bleeding like that. This case is disgusting, and they all should be ashamed. So much trust of your life in their hands, and they do this shit. Insane. Plus (not a doctor or anything but a frequent flyer patient over the years), aren't they supposed to have multiple lines setup before hand for this reason? I was covered in various needles lines and stuff before I even got into the OR.

Whole body donation should need to be agreed on by the person before death. Like how we can sign up to be an organ donor. My grandma's body was donated, whole body, to the local university tied to the hospital. But she died of cancer and knew for a few months she was dying and asked for her body to be donated because she wanted to help. It shouldn't be a last minute decision by the family at the hospital. .
