Yanky and Nachi this was nostalgia for me. My grandfather was Nifter over 30 years ago. And, a child he lived in Dublin Ireland. He had many stories about the Herzogs. One of the sons was in his class.

Why did Rav Berel Wein make Aliya? Perhaps because it is a mitzvah just like wearing Tzitzis and eating Matza all the days of Pesach? He had the opportunity and took it. Also note that at 32:00 the Rav states the future of Klal Yisroel is in Israel, the State of Israel. "@if you want to be productive, this is the place to be". I had the skus of being in his Jewish history class at Ohr Samayach for a few years.

As someone who grew up in MOnsey and heard some of Rabbi Wein's tapes I feel the action of his shul speaks louder that he is a little too self righteous.. HIs own MO shul the current sisterhood president Hinda Kimmel her nephew Ari Jutkowitz intermarried is divorced and now engaged to another non-Jewish women and it is business as usual with the Kimmel and JUtkowtiz family as there are friends with this intermarried person. Just saying because it is unusual in the MO world to intermarry and yet here it is with and that person their Aunt is the head of the sisterhood.

My uncle prayed at his synagogue on monsey ny. My 1st cousin intermarried unusual for someone modern orthodox. His aunt was the head if the sisterhood. This shows real contempt for Jewish women. Rabbi wein has always been to create divisions and ignore the fact that his own shul had some major misbehavior and problems.

Like I said he create division while his own congregants have engaged extremely abusive inappropriate behavior and use so called Orthodox Judaism to harass fellow Jews endlessly simply for pleasure and because their son was discriminated against because they intermarried which is not without cause. Those are members are Rabbi Wein's shul. Completely lawless.
