I love that these biblical figures are portrayed as Africans because that is historically accurate. It would be more accurate, however, to portray these people as East African cushites..ethiopians, eritreans, black Sudanese, Somalis, etc... these were the people in the Bible

Even the Bible series that was on TV said that he was. The problem is that black, white are modern terms basically that came from racism. People in the Bible are identified by their Country are tribes. The people of that region are dark, some are darker but they wouldn’t called themselves black or white because it’s ridiculous to identify as something that was common knowledge. Moses was a Hebrew that grew up in pharaoh house in Egypt or Kemet. Mary & Jospeh took the baby Jesus into Egypt, North Africa. Moses was mistaken as and Egyptian and so was Paul and Jospeh. So read the Bible without bias and do your due diligence in studying land mass.
