To be famous in the world of esports, it’s safe to say you need to be able to appreciate a good meme. True superstardom in this world, doesn’t take place in big press conferences, red carpets or glamorous photo shoots.
In esports you’ve got to master the art of Reddit. The combination of being absolutely incredible at your game of choice while simultaneously not taking anything seriously.
Maybe nobody in esports history embodies this more than the King of Reddit himself: Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek
From clutching on the biggest stage with Cloud 9 to the top of the Twitch charts. This is his story.

@VI I suppose so, lol. But you could also call his mom giving birth to him the butterfly effect. Usually the butterfly effect is reserved for something you wouldn't think is entirely related. A butterfly flapping its wings to create a large gust on the other side of the world. You don't connect a butterfly and gusts or storms, but you do connect showing someone an fps and them finding out they're good at them together. It is just an odd example. No shade, man.

He was smart to move away from the competitive scene to go full time streaming. Most of us know that being Pro is not easy and there's lots of ups/downs and money isn't always there if you're not winning, but streaming full-time allowed him to enjoy the games he likes to play and make money at the same time without anyone at his throat forcing him to make god plays. Much respect.

Thanks for featuring me in this vid theScore esports! It's def been a wild ride. Its amazing how one person can bless so many. He's seriously so humble. He reached out to my stream in a way that didn't make it about himself. Nothing was "planned" ahead, as naysayers try to claim, he never tried to gain any promotion off of what he did, any of the "news" following his raid was from outside parties just sharing his awesome gesture. I mean, asking folks to use their prime subs on me, and not himself, is an obvious example that he was doing what he did to be kind, not for promotion.

I know supports are needed in a team game but man when he said that he's no longer a superstar I felt sad for some reason. They could have rotate the support role in every round that for me I think killed his passion for csgo. You could feel it that he wanted to make big plays but he can't cause he's supporting the team. Anyways it's all good now that we watch shroud happy playing what game he wanted.

@@plate1014 you can clearly tell in his voice when he said that. Shroud is a purebred gamer he wants to play games on his stream and the toxic csgo fans don't like that. He has passion for gaming and when the time came he lost passion for csgo pubg came along so he dialed it back to be in the backline. There's no ego in my statement and I'm not that good in competition I play for myself for my enjoyment.

It's natural it would appear that way. The video fairly compared two styles and Ninja is the epitome of one of them. Ninja is everything that was stated in the video, but nothing stated was inherently bad and is the reason for his success. Whether or not they're "shots fired" depends on your own value judgements. Ninja thrives on being over-the-top in an oversaturated market. He's a performer for a different audience.

I always had no idea who shroud was, because I don't watch twitch. Just twitch fails on youtube. I did not know he was such a huge streamer, or why people even watched him because he was not really funny or putting on a show. as you said. But After watching videos like this I finally understood. He's imo probably the realest person you could watch in general. Be it twitch, or youtube. He does not have a fake personality like basically all twitch streamers. And for that you Have To Respect The Man Himself.
@sk8erbyern

He also does this because he wants to. He plays these games because he is enjoying it. He doesn't have a fake aura because of this
@Thereonthebanana
@Thereonthebanana 5 жыл бұрын
@@sk8erbyern one thing you need to understand, is that no matter how much you enjoy something, a fake person is still going to be fake. Most people are fake nowadays because it's all about getting people to like you. Same wit lh twitch. They want people to like them, donate, sub, and watch them. Even if they are enjoying themselves, does not mean they are not fake.

The people that dislike shroud , dislike him for the actions he did with c9 and the pro circuit. He chose streaming over the pro circuits, he never proved his stripes against the other people on his level(consecutively), and when CS was too hard for him to keep up the effortless number 1 look, he resulted to streaming where you'd see him killing a whole bunch of casuals, rather than pros. in CS community, that just makes you a Professional amateur.

My son watched me play CS when he was a baby. He would sit in my lap and fall asleep. Now at age 5 he plays (on xbox til he gets his own pc) and loves it. Still calls it "pewm pewm game" despite my telling him many times its CSGO lol
