I am in tears... I am from Africa, with all the pain and suffering we Africans go through, she is an inspiration to me, she experienced the same fate we are experiencing now and when I look at her hope, faith and love in Christ I am more amazed... Africa should start teaching about her. thank you, bless

This video is very personal to me. I am in RCIA classes and I needed to chose a Conformation Name. I have chosen St. Josephine Bakhita. I believe the Holy Spirit led me to this video. Thank you for posting it. Very moving!

No other saint has affected me as this one. Her unmitigated suffering and absolute humility just makes me weep, and pray as never before. I see her as saint of great hope for all who have ever faced pain and abject degradation at the hands of others. It is the road toward purification for those who truly believe

I just saw the film. I cried, due to her beauty. I'm by family Italian. What an inspiration to my life as I will redirect it! Bakhita lived a pure, Christ-like life. She will be my heroine!

when i was 9, i went to a boarding sch in africa, and i had book about St.Bakhita that friend gave me. I got in trouble because i was reading it at 12am while everyone in the dorm was sleeping, it was my fifth time to read it but the story moved me and made me cry. I decided that i should do good deeds and become a saint. LOL,i was young and silly but the story on saint Bakhita is one everybody should know

joseph karl I like the story about her where she told the sisters early on about how your God could never understand the pain and suffering I’ve been thru. So the sister read her the gospel verse that said “Jesus was whipped and scourged and spat upon.”

St. Josephine Bakhita, you suffered slavery of body. Pray for us who suffer the slavery of unrepentance. You suffered because of your dark skin, we suffer because of our dark minds. May your prayers touch the heart of God , that he may grant us the grace of faith and conversion.

@hihosilverlining2 You don't ask people to pray for you (mediate)?
@AdoxagraphyAngelus14 жыл бұрын
@hihosilverlining2 Dead people can pray for us. When in Purgatory, you can not pray for yourselves, meaning that they are probably either praying for forgiveness or praying for the people on earth. But you can pray to Saints to help us. And they are dead, are they not?

@hihosilverlining2 Dead people can't pray for us??? If not, why offer an exception? Does this exception extend to all those in Heaven? What about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Matthew 22:32 God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." How do you explain the Parable of Lazarus? Luke 16:27-28 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house" The rich man is praying to 'father' Abraham. He is interceding for his five brethren.
@canstusdis14 жыл бұрын
@hihosilverlining2 No disrespect intended silverlining, but Ecclesiastes is Old Testament. Do you have any New Testament (Christian) verses to back up your beliefs? Catholics do not believe in praying to the dead. We ask the living to pray for us. If the Bible strictly forbids this, please quote a verse. And you didn't even try to answer any of the questions I posted above. Could you at least admit that it's possible that there are more than two people in heaven (Moses and Elijah)?

@canstusdis - yes, I ask people to pray for me. You are right. But I meant 1: dead people can not pray for us (except Moses and elijah who we know are in heaven from the Bible), and 2: we CAN go to God ourselves. It is not a requirement to have someone pray for us. That is the wonderful privelige from God. God bless you :-)

@AdoxagraphyAngelus - Hi my friend. I really believe you are sincere so thank you for your comment. But really, without intending to be rude to you at all, where in the Bible does it talk about Purgatory? In the Bible, the only way a person can be saved from the sin that we ALL bare is through accepting Jesus as their Saviour and living by Him. If it were possible to be saved by any other means, why did Jesus have to die? These traditions arent Biblical. Pls check for yourself x
@hihosilverlining214 жыл бұрын
@seekyefirst - don't you know that you can pray to Jesus DIRECTLY? He loves you and you need NO MEDIATOR. He is so wonderful, he will hear your sincere prayer. God bless you!

So she was bought by an Italian diplomat and his friend.... I wonder what atrocities she had to endure with them. The Catholic Church can not and will never absolve itself from the untold horrors that it has perpetrated for centuries in the name its golden robed narcissists sitting in the Vatican.

@canstusdis - Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward..." There are some in heaven that the Bible tells us of. But generally when we die we die...until Jesus comes back and then his follows will go with Him and those that chose not too, won't. The Bible strictly forbids iwe pray to the dead all through. No disrespect to you. But we ALL need to read Bible more not be duped into falsehood. God bless you.
