I'm a Murphy, this is pretty neat. I just performed my DNA and I am 40% Scandinavian and 7% ireland so the story with defending the vikings must be true. I'm an American born, still performing a lot of tracing but it's interesting.

Next to impossible I'd imagine,we have no records going back anywhere near as far as that.i suppose technically if u had a lot of time and a lot of money u could do some sort of dna research of murphys living in the different areas but that might be slightly excessive 😂 .also we are a pretty small island,going back as far as the eight century pretty much everyone native to Ireland today would be connected to both families,and similarly to any other family name from back then.even Irish Americans who's Irish descendant left 200 years ago would probably have a "great great great great"....... and so on grandparent in both families.
