Also, a video on pop-rock albums released on 1981 is a great idea.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS learn so much from your posts. Miss listening to your radio broadcasts where I, again, learned so much about the science behind the music!!! Well done sir!!! Love and miss, Noni.

No denying that "Escape" was the pinnacle. However, most die-hard fans LOVE the Rollie-Perry albums most.

Great observations. I thought you might give 'Mother, Father' a 10/10 as well.

Mother, Father was definitely the closest to being a 10 besides Escape itself.

Perry and Cain combined with Schon was alchemical magic. The songs took on more melody. Rollie is a great keyboardist and his prog sensibilities gave Journey it's foundation. His time; a long with Schon's in Santana, helped both develop their chops but weren't exactly radio friendly aside from a few songs from the pre-Escape trio of albums.

Dude... back up a bit on the mic. Every time you hit a "P" we all get the "poof" in the ear.
