Wow. I find the WoW lore very powerful and compelling. Now I have a better idea of how that works. There is use of mythology and Bible stories. Such stories are amazing and worth getting inspiration from. I have noticed more references to Norse mythology. There is valkyries and Helheim. There is even a guy called Hymdall in the background of 5:05. The use of giants are like Norse. I wonder if there are parts in Azaroth, like the Norse realms. The realm of Helheim is the most obvious. Maybe there is more. The upper icy parts of Northrend is like Niflehiem. The lower mountainous parts of the continent is like Jotunheim, especially if they have giants. The place where the titanforged live is like Asguard. The Firelands is like Musphaheim. Both have fire. The Emeralsd dream is a green natury area like Vanaheim. The Shadowlands are dark and creepy like Svardalfheim. The Isle of Queldenais is a birght home of the elves, like Alfheim. Dun Modr and Blackrock mountain have dwarves like Nidavellir. The whole world of Azaroth is like the mundane realm of Midguard. The human areas like Elwyn Forest is the best example. Nordrassil and Teledrassil are world trees like Yggdrasil. I winder if Azaroth has a rainbow bridge, like Bifrost. That would be cool. I wonder if there are places like Christian cosmology. Helfire Peninsula and Shadowmoon Valley are nasty and demon infested in ther Outland versions. They are like Hell. One of them even has Hell in the name. Wherever the Titans live is like Heaven. The eery inbetween places of Blasted Lands, Swamp of Sorrows and Deadwind Pass is like Limbo. I wonder is this is why Duskwood is so creepy. It would be the start of Limbo. The orc zone of Duratar and the Dranei zones of Azuremyst and Bloodmyst is like Purgatory. The orcs and dranei work hard to do heroics and overcome thier past of demonic curruption.
@Fazquel Жыл бұрын
love the video, and it makes me think that the story told in shadowlands should have been not about the Jailer trying to destroy reality. But the origin of all the roots of WoW lore. Odin and Helya should have had a much bigger role and used this expansion to tell a story what had been done in the past and how its affecting the afterlife. It almost sounds to me like Odin could have been a villain/anti-hero for shadowlands. Just my opinion/thoughts. These lore vids get me brainstorming lol

Hey Nobbel, great vid, as always. I don`t belive Blizzard ever confirmed what exactly happened with Galakrond and his mutations. Last time I saw you discussing it we still didn`t have the Chronicles and all precious lore about Order, Desorder, Life, Death, Light and Void. It was pretty unclear if he was inffected by some kind of undeath plague or Old Gods. The latter sounded more possible, since we belived that the undeath plague would still be created by the Burning League. Now we understand that the Void was already present in Azeroth, and it's reasonable to think they could tap into the undeath magic (like Odin did). Do you think Galakrond was an attempt of the Void to create such creature? He surely was a "parasitic necrophotic" beast, and all those extra limbs and eyes around his body scream Old Gods to me. Could it be that one of the Old Gods or even the Void Lords tried to convert the photodrakes like they did with the mantids/etc? I understand that that book is now a few years old and probably might not even be canon anymore, but since the Dragons Aspects were one of my favorite lore, I do belive there is still hope that Blizzard will explore something reguarding Galakrond, Old Gods and our Dragons.

Blizz should make it so that the Discs of Norganonn (i think?) at the end of Uldaman in-game, where Archaedas is telling you all about the curse of flesh and yadadaada, at the end of the text it reads something like "We hear whispers of a place called KZbin, where you can speak to a certain Nobbel87 to learn everything we couldn't discuss here." I think that'd be cool, nobbel definitely deserves a shoutout from blizzard. He's kept so many people including myself coming back to WoW time and again, just so i can experience the lore unfold in game.

Hey Nobbel, something off topic but I was thinking... since people are pretty up in arms about Thrall just handing over the Doomhammer, i thought of something, maybe i could get your thoughts on it: The aspects cleansed the dragon soul right, and Thrall helped at least from my understanding. well, they said it would take a piece of their very being... then at the end the Aspects banded together to "knot" the threads of that particular time so it couldnt be tampered with, but Thrall wasnt apart of that. what if it just took longer for the effect of the dragon soul to take hold on him? the biggest part of his being is communing with the elements, so thats what was taken. Just a thought, hope to hear what people thing :)
@paradoxmaelstrom18928 жыл бұрын
+WinterNomad Hmm that is a good theory to me I thought it had something to do with the elements all together like the alternate elements wanted Garrosh dead as it should be in that timeline so in Mak'gora they lent their powers to Thrall to do so but when he came back the elements of Azeroth slowly found out what happened took his power away well that's one theory I have the other is; That the battle at the Broken Shore broke his spirit and will and perhaps some hope same with the rest of the shamans of the Earthern Ring since in that quest to get any of those weapons they can't cast anything meaning that either their strength has chipped away by fighting a endless battle or they can't focus due to the looming threat of demons since they were being hunted down by them too and to have a lent power from an element you must be focused and calm to control something wild and unpredictable. But that's just my two theories. :)

One thing to back up the idea that the speeches are canon is Dawn of the Aspects. We get a similar story there, where Tyr and the keepers are at the dragons but the blessing itself is skimmed over. The way it's done however left me with the impression, long before Chronicles, that the Titans were speaking or channeled through the Keepers.

Hey Nobbel! I have a theory and might be an explanation of how we got all that power as mortals and heroes of "Azeroth". Remember we fought the Old Ones and beat em' C'thun,Yogg-Saron the ones that even the Titan-Keepers corrupted by them. We even fought the keepers them selves and bested ten in battle we even killed one of them Loken. But hey N'zoth is still out there, eh? Remember in the previous video it was said that the element of spirit was consumed by the world soul? Then the curse of flesh and we "Mortals" were more vulnerable and easily influenced? Then I'd say the world soul granted us the "cursed mortals" some of its power to make us the real protectors of Azeroth its soul. So in my opinion the main reason of all of our powers came from the world it self.

So as you have said in the past a Warcraft IV game would be difficult to execute because we are making the story right now. But what would you say if Warcraft IV was set in the past. And I mean from the beginning. It would start with the wakening of Aman'thul and go on with the war against The Black Empire, and one of the final battles would be against Yogg-Sauron(or whoever it was). We would get to create the army of titans. We fight agains all the elemental lords, drive the forces of the old Gods back. We send Hodir, Loken, Thorim and all the others down to Azeroth to protect the land. What would you say about that kind of Warcraft IV game?

Mardun wasn't a Titan built prison, Fel magic is a cosmic force like Arcane, demons are beings of Fel, so when Sargaras shattered the prison planet he was exposed to massive amounts of Fel energy from all the demons imprisoned there.

Sky Lord Panglot fel comes from the fundamental force of Chaos or Disorder, which stems from the Twisting Nether, where Light and Void clash. Demons come from here. They are beings of Chaos. Fel Magic, Demons and the fundamental force Disorder are direct and natural opposites to Arcane magic, Titans and the force of Order from which they come from.
