Ngl I think it's a crime that we never got to see season 8 valks on LAN, and I think it's an even bigger crime that dzoni hasn't expressed interest in playing in spl since. I can't help but feel robbed that dzoni's 1 year in spl was a year where he was at a disadvantage the entire time. I remember seeing people in the smitepro subreddit being so uncharitable to season 8 valks and it just sucked because I've seen dzoni and he could easily be a top 3 spl jungler IMO.

Every play I saw him make pre-spl, he belonged there; and I do agree, give him a chance to play LAN and he’ll rival The King himself, Adapting.

Fun fact: Adapting himself has said on stream that Dzoni might be the best jungler he's ever played against. Coming from the jungle GOAT, that has spent years facing the top spl junglers, i think that should speak volumes of what kind of a player Dzoni is at his full potential.

I think another bit of spice with the Season 8 Valks was that, iirc, Raffer's house got flooded and him and his gf, Tigress, were put in a really rough spot. This happened after he "retired". Few weeks later and not only is Raffer back, but also Tigress (someone who I don't think plays Smite) was their coach! Imo this suggested that the unfortunate flooding came at the worst time for Raffer when he was trying to find another source of income and was forced into another year of playing Smite and he managed to get his SO on the payroll as well (which while understandable seems pretty dodgy.) Felt like most of the league turned a blind eye to that. Been a massive Valks fan and they always did just enough to keep me engaged, but a sad story in the end. :(

Definitely dodgy to put her on the payroll. Remember, Raffer has won worlds twice and the stuff they lost in the flood was VR equipment. I don't think they needed the money lol

I think this is a great idea and would be a great help to anyone not caught up on the past 2 seasons. I personally would have done this (if i had the idea) AFTER the play ins to get the proper 8 teams for this season, but that's just me, i still think the series is worth doing as you have it.

Bit of a shame for players like Dzoni and Duck3y that had such promise and potential but couldn't properly show it because of COVID, at least Dzoni has had a showing and Duck3y will hopefully with playins coming up.

Og fans of the Valks or Scarabs are basically war veterans at this point between the roster changes and their performances during regular season.

Honestly, I was an OG fan of the Scarabs, and then I wasn't a fan of the Scarabs anymore, because LITERALLY every player I was a fan of got replaced. I'm not even talking the first few changes, I liked Stuart and Scream, but then they and the OG members left too. Just a completely different team, and a boring one at that, just worn out ex-pros who couldn't get back into the SPL through playing good Smite so they played Smite Friends League to get a spot instead.

Dzoni got the only penta of that year while on ping this guy really should get a real shot in the SPL. Getting to lan for once netted him more worlds games than 2 spl teams this year…

Valks are back in EU and even tho I like Warchi I don’t think they are making it back to SPL
