The story of the VITAK 4

This is my latest project of a light electric vehicle. For more than twenty years I try to persuade people that we need a vehicle that is ultra light and ultra cheap, like a bicycle. Some project can become affordable when it is mass produced. That is why I used parts of electric bicycles that are already mass produced. This one I use to commute around the place, and take my grand children to school. All my fellow citizens are delighted. We enjoy the ride, so smooth. Now my son in law is interested that we make one from those electric bikes with 22 inches wheels. Maybe we make it while I am still capable. Hahaha.

Weight of the whole vehicle, with two batteries, two motors, Is about 120 kg

It says that one of the bikes can hold 130 kg. As it Is two of them used, it Is no problem. It can easily take 200 kg. I am 81 kg, and once it took me and the doughter, and two kids of 8 years, no problemo, at all.

Rear seats are small.

Yes, I ment it for smaller children, like on the bicycle. But they could be a little bigger.

I made it as an realisation of the idea of a simple and cheap urban commuting vehicle. I had in mind a single person, taking two small children to a kindergarden. And it fullfilled my expectations. It Is agile and quite fast, as it goes 25 km/h. Children are safe and comfortable, better than on a bike. It does not make any problem by charging, as it takes about 150 W, for about 4-5 hours, once in three days, it does not congest the streets, as it Is 1 m wide, and parking Is not problem at all, almost like bicycle. I am absolutely convinced now, that vehicles like this can make a step forward in urban commuting.

And my doughter and her husband asked me of I can make a scatch of a little bigger vehicle with 22 inches wheels, and I think that it can be done with two chineese electric bikes. I found just a right model.
