My first ebike conversion was eBikeling. Awesome kit if you pedal with your bike. Very low torque but bullet proof. Almost 10,000 miles on it. Runs great. Definitely water resistant, caught in the rain a lot. I did buy a better battery though. Cost more than the kit but if you cheap out on a battery you will 💯 regret it. Nothing more expensive than paying for it twice

Hi Venture. I really appreciate your "to the point honesty." It allows me confidence with entering this alternative transport option. Thank you!!

I built my own ebike conversion for roughly $150; [$15] 2nd hand hoverboard - gave me a battery and motor controller (after some mods to the motherboard) [$100] hub motor (w/ wheel assembly) [$35] bunch of spare parts (stm32, wiring, PAS, display, 3D printing, etc) And the bike was purchased used for $50. Also tried to convert the hoverboard motor into a wheel, but gave up on that idea after a few weeks even though it seemed feasible. This would've made the motor come essentially for free, as I could then use the old back wheel of the bicycle for donor parts (rim and spokes). I've seen other people do this, but in the end wasn't able to myself. $100 build is possible but in my opinion too hard and not worth it - especially if you value quality and longevity. I will probably upgrade the battery, as it's only 150Wh and fairly old. Purchasing cells from nkon and putting it together myself will cost $150-$200 for a 450Wh battery, making the entire build $350-$400 for a pretty decent ebike.

You can definitely use a generic bldc controller, alternatively a sensored one depending on the motor. If you pair this up with spare parts for other ebikes then yes, $100 build is indeed very possible. Although you might spend more time tinkering - depending on who you ask might be worth it or not.

I built a pedal assist kit includes two geared motors(one for drive/regen and one for gen with esp32 with tilt sensors to toggle gen/regen functions along with 12v 6Ah battery under 30

I put together a super sketchy diy kit for about 120 bucks I got the kit half put together on a bicycle for 60 bucks and then I found the battery on marketplace for another 60. You can tell the battery is pretty whooped. It says it's 15 amp hour but you only get about 20 mi on the throttle but I'm happy with it

I looked at the Rubbee back when they were still a "Starter Company" and were seeking investors..... $1200.00 was their price when I considered them & I did reach out to them and they promptly answered my questions but their price was steep when I could get a honda gas friction motor for $379 or so...... thanks for the video

Weight gas tags payments insurance, especially at a young age with that insurance stuff. honestly the only 2 benefits offered by ebikes is free fuel (charge it at work they usually let you), and the lack of payments needed beyond the initial purchase.

That's true & is the whole reason I started looking into them back in 2016-17. But the prices never went down like they were supposed to do & with all the problems w/ batteries, and there are many, I've had a gut feeling about them ever since then. But I still continue watching the progress & evolution of the industry. peace

What about cheap dc motor kits?

Question: where do you live that allowed you to sell your car and use a bike as your primary form of transportation? I'm curious because location and density are factors in e-biking.

I’m pretty sure I heard u say this before in one of your vids, do you recommend getting the wired freedom 2024 for a first e-bike? I think that’s gonna be the one I buy but I would like to here someone’s perspective of it that rides e-bikes and isn’t being paid to say good stuff about it

I would get a E cells over a wired any day! look at some reviews. E cells is better built cheaper prices and all kinds of upgrades.

yeah this is all insanely expensive. Especially when you can get a good 2 stroke kit for $1000 that can probably make more than a kilowat.

100$ would just seem like it would be super fishy and shouldn't cost that much for the metal even. 500$ sure but not below. Mine was used and cost me 400$ for a bbs02b at 52v 35mph and range 70ish less at 35-40ish with no pedals. Saved me tons from the dinos 🦕

Were would be a good place to find a QS 3.0 to3.5 for a 52v controller any advice. If yes or no thank you

why can you get folding dinky ebikes so cheap? it just doesnt make sense that building costs more always
@quantumfx26776 ай бұрын
Only Ebikes I would ever even consider are the Molo5 72V 15000w and Mosphera 72 volt , Ristretto 512, and wouldn't touch Wired I would only go with E Cells dual 3000w motors ECells will be the first and only brand to receive a custom gallium nitride powered FTEX controller, delivering nearly 3KW of peak power per wheel and featuring flux weakening algorithms pushing the bike to a higher maximum speeds of 53 56mph or more!
