I always liked how Weiss instantly had Yang’s back with the whole Mercury Vytal incident. Blake was questioning Yang (that was because of Adam obviously...she was thinking maybe Yang was going down that route) and it clearly hurt Yang for Blake to think that. Weiss, though, had Yang’s back the entire time and got pissed at Blake for thinking that of Yang.

15:17 - 19:30 This is my favorite Freezerburn Moment. This is the most depth we've gotten from both girls about their upbringings and why I see them as sisters by choice. (Also, the fact Weiss never calls Jaques "dad" and only "Father" says so much to me. The other girls call their dads dad and their moms mom. Weiss never does that until much later and it's only after she's sure.) Also I know CREWBY and Yang's voice actor says Yang doesn't have abandonment issues but this moment just screams otherwise. That's really the one argument I raise against this as far as solo characteristics go.

Kinda late but i always thought that these two could have a deeper relationship and be the best friends, like after what happened at Beacon, there is a lot of time that Weiss and Yang were together. If you pay attention, then you will see that Yang only told Weiss about her problems so head cannon, Weiss and Yang have the best friends relationship, even before, i liked their interactions. I love them. I don't ship them but i mean as friends, in the team RWBY, they are the closest ones and dont you dare say that Blake is closer to Yang, because Yang didn't open to her like she did to Weiss and for Ruby, well she plays more the big sis thing.

Weiss and Yang are objectively the best written on team RWBY might as well have the best bounce off each other. Blake has almost nothing to her, Weiss would be more proactive and supportive in the relationship easily than blake ever has been

Long comment incoming A seriously underrated friendship (if you ship them that’s cool too :) I just prefer Bumbleby) I always thought it was interesting that they were the first ones from team RWBY to see each other again, there are other more obvious choices but i love that Rooster Teeth chose them. It really solidifies the fact that *all* members of team RWBY are close, and there are no odd pairs who aren’t as close as the others, which is how it should be Weiss probably sees Yang as an older sister figure who has a lot of qualities that her actual older sister lacks. I love Winter but I think we can all agree Yang is much warmer and more fun to be around. Her laid back attitude means that Weiss is finally around someone who doesn’t mind her comparatively uptight mindset and has the emotional maturity to know that it’s not hot air; Yang trusts that Weiss gives orders and is stern for a reason Yang seemed surprised by the depth of Weiss’ emotions/character when getting to know her throughout their time at Beacon, and that comes full circle when she approaches Yang to have that much needed talk about Blake in Volume 4 As somebody else pointed out, Weiss has always trusted Yang, and aggressively had her back during the instance with Mercury As this video showed, Yang has also confided a lot in Weiss, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she views her as a younger sister that’s capable of having emotionally mature discussions and the ability to take on responsibility. Not a dig at Ruby, and obviously Yang loves her just as much, but she had a lot of growing up to do in Volumes 1-4 All of that to say, I love their relationship. Two people that have something the other not necessarily lacks, but wants in a friend. And along with Blake and Ruby, have really grown into their roles as sister figures to one another, I think it’s very beautiful

it's possible weiss and yang get along so well because Weiss sees in yang an older sister, of sorts, and Yang appreciates the more mature 'little sister'. (I got the feeling she often looks down on those around her in her bright and cheery/motherly way. :) Remember; for a good while there, she handled the role of Ruby's 'mother'. and probably not just when their father 'checked out'. Which leads me to think that her mental age is a good bit higher than that of the girls around her. That she does not give the impression of this, I blame on the need to let ruby shine. and, of course, her inborn need to 'burn bright'. :) in whatever way serves the situation best.

@@ImStrange_ There is, but it's too long and tedious over too many seasons to be considered proper character development. As a writer, I could do a whole explanation on RWBY and how it failed to execute its story properly, but I'll do it later. NOT A RANT, just a careful criticism from someone who loves the show.

I think the idea is that they are all growing over time...like real persons do...some take longer to grow up than others, and some only grow so much. Considering Monty Oom, the actual creator and author, died before the completion of season 3, they have done a good job of keeping his vision alive. Look at Bilbo and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, it took 4 epic novels, multiple short stories and 6 movies to reach the end of their respective heroe's journey...it took J R R Tolkien from the end of WW1 to the end of the 1950s to complete his story, from the Simirillion through Hobbit to Return of the King. I would not criticize too much, but then, I'm just a fan, an old otaku who has loved animation since childhood.
