Dalton 100% flopped on that "charge". Please don't call those consistently. Real charges, yes. But that was a flop worthy of James Harden. Also, until all the goalies get knee pads (shout out to Joez for seeing the problem), EVERY shot should be low lol. I only say these things because I love this sport, btw. I also hope that, as people get better/more used to it, moving slaps should be allowed. That play by Rourke was phenomenal.

Great game and a great sport for sure. I know Jimmy commented on how everyone has rule suggestions but I think two things stand out. A shot clock of any reasonable length just so the leading team can't theoretically kill all the clock after the 2min warning. Also it would nice if athletic plays were more possible on slaps, maybe one foot planted instead of both

These are good ideas because they say the rule is feet must be set and if they mean one foot for like a pivot then they need to explain better because I would bet at least 80% of slap shots have the feet not set. When you say feet you are implying both feet.

I also personally think that the whole foot has to be over the line. For it to be called with a toe or the front part of the shoe on the line I don’t understand. I come from hockey when I think about lines, the puck and in this case has to be completely over the line to count as a goal correct? But the toes or foot just has to be touching the line and the plays dead? If it’s the case where the slapball only has to touch the line to be considered a goal I would change my stance but it is not the case.

Possible Rule Changes for Slapball 2: 1. Put in a shot clock 2. Allow for moving and jumping slaps, having to be stationary just kills a lot of the interesting plays that could be run 3. Make the rebound bounce count two bounces instead of one to allow for more transition play. 4. Only make throws dead balls if it hits the back wall or bounces more than twice after save 5. Make the designated goalie stay behind midcourt, which I think would allow more spacing.

1. Not sure if Jimmy has said something on this but it seems so obvious that I'm pretty confident they already did. 2. They're playing on concrete, it's off the table, Jimmy's mentioned that before. As much as I want to see someone go full Rugby side-in, we'll have to settle with a Titanic-style "I'm flying" throw from the midline, ideally with Joez and Jake. 3-4. Probably one or the other? If the ball is in open play, that's probably better overall, but there's a certain point where these guys aren't pro athletes and they're gonna get gassed. Especially with a shot clock. 5. Best idea I've seen suggested all season. Adds the strategy aspect of whether or not you take someone like Penik or Joez out of goal, because you don't want him as your primary "backline thrower", but do you force someone like Jack to play goal where he isn't as good?

The only thing with number 2 is that I don't think allowing moving or jumping slaps necessarily means that its going to turn into guys diving all over the concrete dangerously. I think you could put in a rule that allows for natural free flowing movement while slapping, that also disallows and prevents anything excessive or dangerous. And I think it'd be worth at least exploring and testing out different ideas, just for the sake of making the game a bit more aesthetic and less.... herky jerky around the crease for lack of a better term lol Edit: Now that I think on it, maybe allowing jumping slaps is a bad idea since it does open up the potential for guys to get up-ended. But I still think moving slaps could work, at least moving slaps on passes.

Don't think Joez is getting enough credit in these comments. He's a really solid piece to the team - good goalkeeping (he has made some saves the other goalies may not make), really solid attacking positioning. He almost lulls the defense to sleep in the best way, then before you know it bam he scored a goal.

I think the rule where the goal scorer having to come to a complete stop is the worst rule you can make for this. If you get rid of that rule you can have much closer and more competitive games. If you get rid of that rule you can also get better clips. I think it would just be a better game without that rule.

I think you should change the rule, of not being in motion slapping the ball to count. Self slaps, yes should be stationary. Reviving a pass to slap, you should be able to be in motion.

yup. i think jack and jolly’s problems are the inverse of each other; jack doesn’t always rely on strategy or even have a well thought out/well communicated gameplan, whereas (at times) jolly relies too heavily on strategy and tries to galaxy-brain things, trying to out-think his opponent. meanwhile, jake and jimmy do both well.

Experience, wisdom, and the ability to lead comes with age. It might sound silly, but watching how these tourneys have played out, it's becoming obvious. I guess it's also natural since they are the leaders of the company itself. I really hope it can work out to have Nicky Cass as captain next season because I think he has more of a leader's personality.

I think Jack doesn't like having to deal with a lot of responsibility to be the Captain, I think he'd be oky with being part of someone elses team rather than being a captain. Jolly on the other hand is just mismanagement of player strengths and weaknesses as well as an attempt at too many head games and trying to exploit 'the meta' of the game but failing miserably instead of just playing in the moment.

Counterpoint on the "flop" by Dalton. I really think the onus should be more on the attacking player to play under control and not initiate contact. It's not like basketball where they need to dribble and drive - they're literally just running around with a ball palmed in their hand. They should be under control in traffic. Lateral movement by the defense should be fine and and I'm ok with contact being an offensive foul. But if a replay shows a true no-contact flop, penalty slap should awarded to the offense.

I know it might be expensive depending on what method is used, but I’d like to see some investment in allowing goalies to get onto the floor quickly without hurting themselves. Low shots are a little too good when everyone’s standing.
