I disagree! I actually really liked the artist guy! Not to say that his personality wasn’t annoying but I just really liked the way his character arc went. My GOD. I found this series after the video: “Artiswitch is a on another level.” I binged watched the entire show, and I loved it. It reminded me about the beauty community with all of the whole colours and the fashion look it was taking. The whole lore with Nina being a witch, reminded me of a fairy tale, in which the witches in fairytales will grant wishes, whether or not the outcome will be happy or sad. It was a nice roller coaster ride to be on. Also, the one thing I mostly loved, was the…. 🏳️🌈 I’m just going to leave at that, watch episode 5!

I think the true meaning behind Lulu's ( the goth lolita girl ) peer deeper and her wish is that her life isn't a happy one like she said she hate she hate schools and she hate house and also in the peer deeper scene the last scene kinda remind me of school scenery with desks and also the deck of the school at the end. The last scene wasn't actually her actually zipping everything but in fact she is zipping herself by closing the umbrella so that she won't have to go through what she hate anymore. ( also she was wearing black the color wear at funeral the whole time ) though I think after the peer deeper ends she's still alive and got the earrings from the shop and after that she may decide to end herself just like how everyone after they went to the shop decide to follow what they want deep inside and that's why the witch was crying after she granted the wish of Lulu. I think it make sense.
@wyster14 Жыл бұрын
Also it is worth noting that she said she hates the color of the blue sky, which was the same color as the dress she wore. However, she does appear much happier in the black and red dress, signifying that she much prefers those colors. I personally find solace in her character, because there’s so many things I can’t stand and want to just run away from, but her arc is actually deeper. So rather than just dying, her wish is to be completely free of the world that makes her uncomfortable. She does still exist, just not in the world, and spoiler warning, but in this alternate place she actually decides to go back, because even though there’s a lot she doesn’t like, she still wants to stick around. Genuinely it’s such a beautiful arc, and proof of the solid writing behind this show, including the complicated characters and human responses

@SWAYNAMI In terms of Episode 2, those 2 other girls aren’t related to Mana. They just look the same because that’s what’s popular and they want to look normal. The point is that Mana is afraid to be her true self because she’s afraid of the near-total social rejection she’ll face and because she feels you can’t be different (due to how conformist Japan is). In terms of Episode 3, the lesson isn’t so much abide by conformity, but rather that taking criticism is important to being a fashion designer, that you need to get over your past trauma from bullying in order to move forward and above that, in order to be a fashion designer, you need to do more than just draw. Akihito is the way he is because he likely suffered rejection from a large amount of bullying and ridicule as a child, and as a result, wants nothing to do with mainstream fashion or society.

On the first episode theres like a... Hidden meaning that can't be perceived for not japanese speakers or learners... I've being studying Japanese for almost 2 years and a half and I think I could understand it... In some point The girl in the first episode talks with the pronoun ぼく (boku) that means "I", commonly used only by males in Japanese lenguage, thats why Nina keeps asking her whats does boku means. At the middle when she starts dancing she stops using boku and uses one of the pronouns for "I" that only Japanese girls use... I don't remember well which one she uses... My point is that it gives a different meaning the original audio in Japanese than in Spanish or English, and when you understand this the context is easier to understand. But as I say its hard for another lenguages.

I like how you summerizied this show. I also didn't liked everything in it, but it left me really moved. I also dropped sharing publicly things I found meaningful because social support wasn't there enough and negative social pressure (even if not direct) felt too heavy on me. I loved that they made a scene about this obscene fashion guy, as the show is somehow like him and for me it says they have some deeper insight into themselves too (; )) . It doesn't mean I didn't like it visually, it has many fresh and appealing ideas but it was brain-eating amount of details to me. I also love that there was episode 04 showing a regret of the witch to participate in fullfiling a crazy dark wish of someone. I still feel pressure deep in my throat to write as I really feel. One man of God prayed over me. He said I shouldn't quenche my words but invite the Holy Spirit to transform my words and use me for God's glory. Hope to do it just now. Modern world has its sweet toxicitiy to tell us - do as you please, as you feel, find oneself deep within you, see what gender you are, what you like or not, follow that! But what we can find deep inside can be another delusion, there is sometimes, for example, a projection of the whole internet we sucked into ourselves without a reflection. Only God knows what true us are! But its true He will give us clues, deep in our soul, but it requires, I believe, a humility and humble prayer for truth. Detoxication from constant inpulses from around could be helpful too. I am sure God will lead us slowly to the Truth (and there is one Truth) if we sincerely look for it. If we look deeper in us, but not only by ourselves. A friendly eye of other human can be helpful in that, its what is nicely showed in the episode I mentioned (with the fashion guy). I once prayed for truth, not knowing who I am, what orientation I am, what is this relationship I am in. I believe God heard me and have lead me out of the unhappy lie. I am no longer living as a chaotic manly-lesbian but I grow to be a woman, and to be an adult woman. I needed time, I needed some maturity. I am better. Hope you do not eat me alive after this coming out but I grow to be less and less afraid. God bless you.

Three that are in the same 3D anime vein that I enjoyed were The Magnificent Kotobuki, Frame Arms Girl, and Land of the Lustrous. They may not be raving hits, but if you like shows that flew under the radar and have unique ideas I'd say give them a look because I certainly enjoyed them. Im aware this is late, disorganised and like really long but I just thought it was really interesting how different our interpretations of episode 3 were because of our own presumptions of what makes someone an elitist. I just want to say that akihiro is my favourite character and you will see this bias in my paragraph but im not offended by your interpretation, i dont think youre completely incorrect either I just find our different interpretations really interesting and wanted to share my two cents :). expanding on the our own presumptions on elitists thing ;you compared him to an anime elitist ie. the kind of person that judges mainstreamers for being mainstreamers just to feed their own ego. in the case of akihiro, that isnt the case entirely. I saw him as a struggling artist. his criticisms of others felt like externalisations of his own self criticisms, things he wasnt allowed to do as a prodigy " I wouldnt be caught dead wearing that "- almost also a way of reaffirming himself that he still has this rich index of skill and knowledge because as a designer with no confidence to create, he essentially had nothing to show for apart from this knowledge. you said , "ill never understand how someone becomes the kind of person that does this" I think he simply felt he had to do this to keep his final sparks of hope alive. in the picture dramas, he explains how he expected to blossom the second he moved to Tokyo, only to be met with disappointment and difficulty when he actually moved there. his confidence by then was dead, and his dream of making it in High fashion was dwindling away in front of him . he very apparently seems to struggle because of this, he struggles with performance paralysis preventing him from creating, with connecting with his close friends as hes dismissive of them at the start of the episode, he even says again in the picture drama that he stopped writing in his ten-year ongoing diary for two years, which I interpreted as a deflation of his sense of self, being too miserable to write. while you concluded his reason for being helped was simply to be less stuck up and get off his High horse, I honestly think it was the opposite. Nina saw his wish ; to be able to succeed in making his brand . she also saw what was stopping him ; his lack of self confidence and crippling fear of rejection and failure. youd think she was roasting him, but maybe she was offering something positive ; a sweet serving of exposure therapy, followed by a bittersweet reality check. Nina shows him his path to success in the form of this acid-trip-induced NYC fashion week feature. the lights, the glamour, its everything he wanted untill... cue the toilets! loads and loads of laughter and toilets and stuck up critics. well shit, he fucking hates this now - and can I just say, this episodes sudden crude aesthetic was so oddly refreshing, which is probably why it's. my favourite. all the other episodes were much more organised and pleasant, while his was eyestrainy, noisy, and slightly gross : its very reflective of the chaos that builds the artistic genius (and of course its the character with the eye for aesthetics that has the least aesthetically pleasing episode. I love irony ) and so hes met with his failure; but its the best thing hes ever met. he realises that on his little toilet throne, the hf scene is in fact, full of shit . he wields the weapon that Nina gave him, taking down all the superficial bigshots because this, this wasnt art for him, and he tears down the very people he emulated that made up his past hopes and dreams but when he killed these hopes, he wasnt hopeless but free. After several acts of manslaughter, the final part shows him pointing the blade back at his own throat. I had a few of my own interpretations of this part. one was him finally killing his fragile ego .another thing I thought of was the significance of death in tarot . "Death indicates the end to a major phase in your life which is no longer working in your favour and the arrival of new possibilities to something far more precious and significant."(thank you Google for that). my favourite interpretation though, was one I saw in a youtube comment. After letting out his frustration towards the elites that made up the hf scene, he turns the blade back to sort himself out because, he was just like them. you interpreted his resolution as "becoming less of an anti-conformist", "designing more normal clothing" which is the complete opposite of what I took from it . After all , this is Artiswitch, the show thats fueled off of eccentricity and spends the first 3/6 episodes chewing up and hurling out the same message of authenticity and non-conformity. I personally liked that was he was the only character out of the first three whose appearance didnt change, almost to say the quirks that made him who he is stuck with him rather than having to be awakened like haruka and mamas or toned Down in the way you interpreted. and i think with his First ever creation, he didnt exactly explicitly tone down the way he designed either .if anything , the piece we see looks more like the one he has on himself compared to his older, more runway-ready designs - if anything, hes embracing what he loves to do instead of sucking up to what's in right now. he makes his first pieces for his friends, and the only reaction we see from them is a slight gasp of surprised and maybe a little disgust . its a frock with the same sort of intricate otome-kei style we see him wearing throughout, and when his friend comments on how oddly frilly he is , his answer is " you wouldnt get it " the guy's still a nutjob . but hes starting to share the thing that makes him happy and creating to connect to the people he actually values instead of the people that he looked up to for so many years for superficial reasons .ultimately, he rebuilds his relationships again as he starts to share his passion with the people he loves instead of burying himself alive in them.
