Natalia was discarded since birth and spent the first 4 years of her life experiencing god knows what in that orphanage in Ukraine because the way her birth mother explained how the doctor convinced her to give up her rights "there's nothing you can do for a child like her and don't waste your life, you're young and can have another child" makes me believe she wasn't cared for/loved since then. Then being flown away to America and tried out by several families before finally being bought by the Barnett's (there's sooo much we don't know and so much she refuses to talk about and that leaves us just stuck). The time with the Barnett's (and after they reaged her and stuck her in the apartments) seems like the most chaotic and abusive from the information we're privy to. The grossest misjustice was not allowing her actual age at the time to be revealed to the jury and not letting Natalia be referred to as a child. It felt very disgusting and discriminatory that another judge allowed her to be taken advantage of and lose her cases. Now is she squeaky clean?... hell no 🤣she most definitely is trying to make it seem that way but from the time she was a child she wasn't guided, taught or nurtured in the way a child should be. I also didn't like how the woman who lived in a shoe with all them 11 kids and her pastor husband tried to make it seem like they weren't using her too. That phone call definitely didn't go down like that and i have a feeling she cursed Kristine out too on some knuck if you buck energy 🤣and they were just glad to use her foodstamp card and like Michael said, they had Natalia sign over her guardianship or disability to them or something along those lines.

This made me curious and I started watching the documentary…All these adults around this child were despicable. I believe she was naughty and not adjusting well maybe even had some disturbing behavior from, as you all said, previous trauma and/or they didn’t want to cover the cost of her medical care. But I think Christine and Michael made up all of that shit. Every detail sounded like something out of an evil child horror movie and that movie Orphan came out around the time they adopted her; they just copied the plot. That a disabled child was treated like this and all these adults actually believed or pretended to believe she wasn’t a child blows me away. The way Michael talked about Natalia this little kid being so strong and having “guns like Swarzenegger” while his blond white wife was so weak and frail reminds me of how the police talk about unarmed Black men they kill. These people are full of it. And yall were right calling out how weird and inappropriate and uncomfortable it was that Christine called Michael into the bathroom to see this alleged pubic hair…I’m sure that’s the least of what she experienced in that weird terrible household. Just a horrible story all around.

I think those first apartment people were just ableist. Take the age out if it she’s still a little person and some people are just prejudice.
