That's my concern. I have a friend who did the same thing that Nick did-- flipped from anorexia to binge eating disorder. Thankfully, she's got it mostly under control now, but she's still very obese. I don't judge her for it, not one bit, but my heart breaks for how hard it makes her life. Couple that with the fact that weight loss as a whole isn't sustainable, like from a clinical perspective, has me worried for her future.

I have experience with mental health issues myself. I´ve been through therapy but have had even much worse stuff happen to me after that. I´m pretty sensitive in general but I gotta say, I wish Nick all the best with all my heart. I can SEE that there is still a rational human being living under all those layers of entertaining and faking shit for views. I just hope, he realizes that. Mental health is extremely important. My life is going better than ever at the moment, but I had to go through some tough shit for that and I had to work on me and my life circumstances (without getting into too much detail). This has always been my view on him: The whole thing has been a publicity stunt (so to speak.) He trashes his health for a few years, accumulates money, an then dips after hitting his 30's. However, he wasn't expecting it to have such a mental toll. That much weight and lifestyle take a massive mental tax. I think we'll see a recovery (hopefully soon), but the whole thing seemed so blatant as an attention grab that it couldn't be true. KZbin isn't forever. Here's hoping the dude's just a genius businessman, who was willing to throw away a few years in the pursuit of enough funds to keep him viable for the rest of his life.

yes I believe this 100%. I think you could compare him to Trisha. Nick is willing to destroy his health and life for views, and so is Trisha. However I think Trisha has been playing a character (even before youtube) for so long that she has lost herself completely. I don't think that Nick is at that point, yet. I think that they're both very smart, but definitely mentally ill. I mean, who would be willing to give up everything, including their dignity for money and views (maybe I have to much faith in humanity to think that most people wouldn't tho).

I used to watch him in his early days, he genuinely is really smart. He used to have small controversies in the vegan community (which isn't hard) when he had exotic pets etc and obviously got a lot of attention when he decided to no longer be vegan. I think he realised that he could make a quick buck and do his own thing, even if it cost his health. He has a good knowledge of nutrition and exercise, and a genuinely good sense of humour. I think his heart is really in his violin and he was just trolling everyone

Nick has spent years putting on a character daily. I think a lot of people underestimate how much that can affect a person. At this point it's beyond habit; it's second nature. I don't believe it is possible (at least not any time soon) for him to sit in front of a camera and be vulnerable, because I don't believe his relationship with a camera is the same as that of most people. As long as Nick is in control of the camera, I don't think anything it shows is in any way connected to his mental state.

I get what you're saying and I think you made a really insightful point, but I think its a stretch to say what we see on camera is "not connected to his mental state". I mean I get what you meant by that, and in the sense that you meant it you're totally right (and I think that's an interesting facet of human nature that is worth pondering), but just by looking at him in his videos you can pretty easily discern that his mental state is probably not super great. It's all totally fabricated, but the fact that it IS so fabricated combined with his extreme weight gain make it a fairly safe bet that the dude is dealing with something or another. If his mental state was perfectly fine... we probably wouldn't be talking about him, ya know?

I think he had a plan to do this for a limited time, he likely has made enough money to live without working if he was smart with investing his money. But at some point he also lost control, I don’t think he counted on gaining 240 lbs, he was 160 when he started. And that weight gain wasn’t in 9 years, it was when he started eating fast food which I think was only 5 years ago at most. Almost 50 lbs a year is basically 1 pound a week consistently for five years, that’s insane!

There is a slight difference between Nikocado and freak shows though. In the past, it was hard for people with physical issues or deformities to even approach the job market. Not to mention some were sold into these freak shows (mostly by parents), kidnapped, or even coerced to participate. In some cases, even the dead bodies of these people were used to drum up a couple of bucks. Even now people with common dermatological issues like psoriasis are avoided like they have leprosy. I was once approached because someone thought my birthmark was a tumor. So, women who grew facial hair or a person with extra limbs? They wouldn’t be in public service back in the day or even now. People don’t like to admit it sometimes but the job market has been and is incredibly ableist. They want the most “normal” looking people they can find. People aren’t kind to those with physical differences and freak shows were an incredible example of that. Nikocado had a world of opportunities before he turned to KZbin, people in freak shows didn’t.

In all honesty, when you have a mental breakdown, that's how you think. Just repeating the same things over and over again in your head while you just want the thoughts to stop. It happened after both my kids were born. Either he did his homework or he does need a break. My bias is that I am a Nik fan. I can only watch his videos until he starts eating because I have severe misophonia. My hope is he is getting away from eating and into something else. The only reason why I think he may be telling the truth despite him "crying wolf" multiple times, is that his videos are proof that there is a decline of maintenence on his body and not caring that weight causes a multitude of negative effects on one's body. It was legit kinda scary hearing him say that he is always steps ahead and this was the greatest social experiment..etc., It makes it seem like he seriously did plan all of this from the beginning, planned to test his "experiment" to see if he can get rich on youtube by playing a character and giving people the shitty content he knew they would consume... maybe he did know...maybe he rly was steps ahead and decided to get rich until hes a certain age and then can jus leave. His huge personalty shifts and difference in character makes it seem like he rly was just playing a character in his experiment to see if he could really get rich this way and the more shit he spewed, the more followers, and money. He didnt have to care if he got hate because haters still watch and comment and its the engagement that youtubers say they are paid off of. Also it does rly seem like it took some kind of toll on him as eating like that would, both physically and mentally. Feel like he's either too sick to continue and he's over it or he made enough money to finally be done or maybe (but hopefully not) this is just another additon to his experiment, test everyone's reactions, and he'll eventually return. if he does tho, i hope it is in a healthier way although i highly doubt it.

Fame really is like a drug. Some people who start to get popular on social media will do absolutely anything to keep it going. A lot of people get famous off of shock humor and continue to do it because it gets the views. I think the reality of it all may have finally caught up to Nick. I wouldn't say he necessarily has the knowledge about nutrition, tbh. When he first started KZbin, he was struggling with anorexia. That's not healthy either. He needs to see a nutritionist to get him on a plan that's safe for him and won't have him going back to the other extreme.

That intro was amazing, omg... what a good way to frame the whole thing. I wouldn't be surprised if he's just trying to get more attention by disappearing, especially when he was able to get in character for the cameo. It's just hard to imagine him doing anything that isn't for attention, even if it's a nice thought to imagine him changing his mind and wanting to get better. Unfortunately I'm more inclined to believe that he's only trying to scare people, but I have no idea what his plan would be after that... It's even hard to take his "out of character" video seriously--since he's never really been "real" it almost seems like another way to get attention, saying what everyone is thinking and creating this supervillain monologue. Even saying that, though, I actually do believe what he said in the video is real. Maybe it's played up a bit, maybe not, but either way I think he did pretty much say what he's actually thinking for once. Whatever the truth is, he absolutely knows what he's doing, and he's receiving the attention and views that he wants. But he's apparently fine destroying himself in the name of whatever he's after, which is something he really can't fake. It's weird to see such a drastic mix of real (the seemingly forced weight gain and whatever's truly behind it), and fake (everything else), and I think that's one of the many reasons why people pay attention to him.

Nikocado has always been self aware, fully taking advantage and monetizing every joke and meme made about him, being overly flamboyant and ridiculous just to capitalize and maximize his views (the dude literally made shirts identifying as skinny and maintained it was water weight, nobody would actually think that in their right mind, he’s taking advantage of the memes and capitalizing off it). He said he only wanted to do KZbin until he was about 30 and he turned 30 recently, it’s likely he’s gone. He became a zoo exhibit for the Internet that many couldn’t or refused to see it was clearly satire. We used him and he used us, and for his own sake I hope he never comes back and takes care of himself, I only hope I’m right because if I’m not, he won’t see 40. I also hope he stays gone because if he doesn’t, it’s gonna keep being weird sharing a name with him

Nick was such a talented violinist, it breaks my heart to see the old videos of him playing. He looked so passionate and happy when doing so. This character he has created will be the death of him unless he realizes that it isn't as important as his health. I really hope we never see him back again, except to give an official goodbye, where he looks at least a little happier and healthier than before. But I somehow highly doubt that will be the case. Either way, I genuinely wish him the best and I hope he gets out of this hole he has dug himself into.

As much as orlan and Nick do act in their videos, diet plays a large role in mood and emotions. There's literally a documentary about how certain foods with sugar or carbs can affect your mood, and considering how they eat....some of the emotions are probably legit just not on such an exaggerated scale. It's obviously not healthy either and I don't see how someone could continue doing this for so long and not be depressed. It's just a really sad thing to do to yourself for money and views..

In those moments I was so disappointed and disgusted with myself, but too tired to physically react the way my emotions wanted me to.
