Great Episode, as always! Another aspect of the Bat-Embargo that's worth talking about is how it affected the cartoons in relation to each other: The Batman was given priority with most Bat characters outside of Batman and Robin (more on him in a sec), resulting in no Batman baddies appearing in JLU at all, even those who would've been in the Legion Of Doom (Joker and Scarecrow, who was already banned thanks to Nolan), Nightwing only making a shadow-y cameo, and no lines for Hugo Strange in Cadmus (as he was a major baddie in The Batman, occasionally used in place of Scarecrow). Meanwhile, The Batman couldn't use Robin until Teen Titans ended, resulting in it having Batgirl come first, before Robin is introduced at the start of season 4. The Embargo also kept a young Bruce Wayne from appearing in Smallville, and a more recent version kept Batman out of the Arrowverse, which was somehow allowed to have its own Flash and Superman! And now, DC has no problem with 3 different movie Batmen running around! Keep up the good work!

I think it's also the reason why there hasn't been a live action show with Bruce as Batman since the 60's. Gotham was a prequel show where you only see him in costume in the last shot, in the CW Batwoman show he was always blurred out and far away, in the awful Titans he was an old man and in the Gotham Knights show he was dead.

Unfortunately, despite its potential, the DCAU version of Hugo Strange was rather lackluster. I think it's fair to say that the series didn't fully explore Hugo Strange's psychological expertise and his obsession with understanding Batman's true identity, which are significant aspects of his character. It also just didn't fully capture Hugo Strange's ability to manipulate others. Instead, he was portrayed as a generic mad scientist which he kind of was back in the Golden Age but he had since been long reinvented for the better. His visual design was also too comical. They drew him too goofy with his exaggerated features, such as his misshapen oversized head, bulging eyes, and comically thin goatee as opposed to his usual Amish beard. The exaggerated and overly cartoonish design of Hugo Strange in the show made it harder to perceive him as a highly intelligent and formidable adversary, diminishing his credibility as a villain. Ray Buktenica's voice and delivery lacked the distinct gravitas and sinister tone usually associated with the character making Hugo feel one-dimensional and less captivating than other versions of Hugo Strange. Hugo Strange was much better handled in The Batman 2004 series where he was voiced by Frank Gorshin.

Yo the episode images they would use at the beginning of the episode with the dramatic music stuck with me 32 years later lol. I was born in 91 and the first character I remember watching and have toys and pics of me from this time was Batman TAS

DCAU Hugo Strange sucks IMO. Instead of being an evil psychiatrist obsessed with replacing Batman he was just some blackmailer.

The biggest revelation out of this episode is Bruce's tighty whiteys

5:22 The Bat Embargo is also why they couldn't have Clark Kent meeting a pre Batman Bruce Wayne in Smallville.

Bat Embargo hurt so much great content from The Justice League/ JLU, The Batman and so many other movies and shows. It's such a dumb idea. Especially because Joker and obviously Batman himself so to be like you can't use Two Face or Ra's Al Ghul because that's just to confusing is dumb epecially because people knew the characters from the movies because of these weekly cartoons and only added value to their names and awareness.
