I don't think Guyus hates new Crash because he can't buy the game, he actually mentions that he finds it hard to socialise because his interests don't align with people his age, and I'd say that's probably what the issue for him is. Crash, for him, is something in the past and part of his childhood and seeing it modernised brings it into the modern world which he detests and feels like he doesn't belong in. Fun fact btw from listening to your debates, I'm pretty sure Guyus uses a voice modulator. The only part where he isn't using it is when he says "can you hear me now?" at the beginning of the second part.

That could be the case but still. When the Titans games came out, I was probably the number #1 hater, I still bought the games and only finished titans, not mutant. I still hated it not because they were bad games but because the characters were completely unrecognizable. I wasn't the only one, there was many Crash fans who really did not like the new designs and we rated the trailer 1 star back on the old youtube. I recently went back to replay them and when I heard Tiny I cringed so... my opinion is still the same, decent games but awful design choices. This to say that, sometimes modern does not mean better. Team Rumble is another horrible mess but the N.Sane Trilogy, CTRNF and Crash 4 are all pretty good.

Not really sure on that given ND purists seemed to be satisfied with the Activision games [given all of them were remakes and the one original mainline game so far was pretty faithful to the originals]. Even nowadays the stuff in-between is generally debated [though if you ask me Twinsanity basically succeeded at making a modernized next-gen formula for Crash that struck the right balance between keeping the series' identity while updating it for the next gen and the fact that they just didn't build off of that was debatably even more of a missed opportunity than the cut content in the game itself]

@@ShadowEclipse777 Something I find interesting is how Crash was kind of inspired by Looney Tunes, and both franchises from their beginnings up to this very day have been caught between the creatives actually trying to make something good and the higher-ups just seeing them as little more than sources of income. Obviously most major franchises in any medium tend to have these kinds of clashes, but it feels like Crash and Looney Tunes have a particularly huge contrast between the different creative teams that have worked on both over the years each pouring love and respect for each series into the installments they make and how often higher-ups tend to screw them over by only thinking about the business side of things

This 30 year old man and RH are the prime example of what NOT to do when making a fangame. Fangames are supposed to be about passion. Creating something to pay tribute to the franchise regardless of what you think of some of the official games. Creating games like this in a desperate attempt to take the fans' attention away from the official products because of how much he hates the modern games, as well as adding malware to remove two games he hates (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), only proves to me that RH could never, nor will it ever be the "Sonic Mania" of Crash Bandicoot.

I was unfortunate enough to be in a Discord server with Guyus about 2 years ago. He’s always been VERY mentally unstable and 100% genuine with his views. I remember trying to give him some advice on how to make his game look less like a cheap unity asset flip. Looking at the footage here, it seems like he actively ignored my advice. lol Anyways, he ended up getting booted from that same server after getting mad about Netflix movie adaptations, calling someone mentally ill and eventually saying they should kill themself. Even before he got booted he was always whinging about the current state of Crash and Ducktales, always on thin ice. It’s funny since it’s been 2 years since I’ve actually interacted with him, I see people still talking about him from time to time without having to even actively look for it. That’s how I came across this video actually!

I was in the discord group when this game was starting out production. Guyus was the admin of the group. I was never active in the group but the guy kept messaging me and I ignored most of it. Eventually it got annoying so I just left the server and removed Guyus. I remember seeing a lot of hate for Crash 4 and anything new Crash related, like the N. sane trilogy. Never knew he'd go to such lengths as getting rid of the games from your computer with this. Seems like I dodged a bullet.

Also, some of the tracks are named after characters who aren't even going to appear in his fangame, and the Crash 4 track that Guyus unknowingly included, isn't part of that soundtrack.

you're right about one thing, he doesn't own the IP at all, Activision does they've owned it since 2008 because Universal Interactive / Vivendi Games / Sierra Entertainment nearly killed the franchise, how do I know because I read the archives, Activision kept their promise to Naughty Dog to bring Crash back from the ground up in 4 remakes and follow up to the direct sequel Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but retro hijinx on the other hand it's not saving the crash franchise, the community or the fandom, it's destroying it, I've played the N. Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled and It's About Time along with Team Rumble too, I love them and I think they're very excellent games so retro hijinx is going to suck and it already has.

You don't have to play it to know how you feel about it, just watch gameplay and see what did work and didn't work for you and just go from there. Hide the negatives, accentuate the positives. Have fun with it, and while you can take it seriously, it shouldn't be to the point that it is now. Like yeah, the PS2 era was very average for Crash, but the remakes brought everything back to the simple gameplay, which is what many people wanted. Plus, I played the Activision Crash games (both the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4) and they're still playable and I have enjoyed playing Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled, since I'm fun with Spyro, Crash, Coco and Tawna as my mains. So yeah, I actually liked the Activision Crash games such as Crash N. Sane Trilogy, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but is it a bad thing? No. But dose this give Guyus the right to harass me? Again, the answer is no. Like I said before, even I liked the Activision Crash games, I still liked the Naughty Dog Crash games to this day, just like I liked both the Modern Sonic games and the Classic Sonic games (even despite there're few rare exceptions, regardless of their qualities). Guyus the Raptor is NOT saving the Crash Bandicoot franchise, he's actually ruining the series with his crappy game called Crash Bandicoot: Retro Hijinx and if you want a better Crash Bandicoot fangame with PS1-style graphics and gameplay, play and support Crash Bandicoot: Back in Time. I'm glad I wasn't aware of this game, so I should consider this video as a warning on being wary of fan games like this, before it's too late. Though to be honest, I don't like Activision for what they represent in the modern age. But I will say compared to this, their mainline Crash games look much more enjoyable, much more faithful to the source material, aren't littered with creepypasta content and most importantly, are much less likely to damage my computer!
