I can't blame Max for wanting her abusive older step brother to die. He was cruel to her and purposefully terrorized people she was close to because he was repeating a cycle. Like regardless if his father was abusive to him that didn't justify him projecting that onto Max like he did.

@@savannaburchard9916 I think it's all subjective. You can speculate it's a lie, just as much as you can speculate that it's true. I for one lean towards it being true. She knew the dark places in her mind are what Vecna seeks out. He knows all of it and it's their weak point. She brought it up to find him/for him to come to her. She was too strong mentally and emotionally and was keeping him out of her mind due to that maybe without realizing it. Once she recalled her traumatic experiences and intrusive thoughts about her brother (ie wanting him dead), Vecna had a window in. I think it was absolutely true. I prefer it that way. It makes her so much more nuanced and human in my opinion. So many people who have experienced trauma and abuse can relate and feel heard through Max now..

Fun fact: Caleb McLaughlin improvised the "Erica, help" line. That line killed me, I sobbed so hard seeing him so desperate to save her. It was beautiful knowing he was so connected to the character. Eddie's "I love you, man." Was also improvised. Beautiful line and it was amazing the way Gaten went with it, too. I'm so amazed with the acting in this show and how in touch with their characters they are. LOVED LOVED LOVED your reactions to this show! I'll miss them!

Okay to clarify the scene where Elle says "No, you're not going, no." And puts her hand over Max's heart she's actually using her powers of telekinesis to force Max's heart to beat, so that she continues to live until paramedics can get to her. Also, the dying Pterodactyl noises at 39:50 took me out lol. 😂😂

@@marleinasmom same. With Max dying it was Lucas saying “Erica help” that did me in, that Caleb just added that in was fantastic, but Eddie dying was soul crushing. I hate absolutely loving a character and then having him be killed by the season finale, he would have made a great addition in season 5, there was a ton more to Eddie’s story that could have been told.

@@BradEvans21 ok so I hope you see this before your ranking video 😅 I don’t think argyle deserves the eye rolls and the slight hate he receives. The whole reason you started disliking him because he freaked out when the gang was burying the military officer in the junk yard. You were like why is he here. The purpose of Argyle’s character is to be a friend of Jonathan that works at a pizza place so he can take the gang away from the house, and then take El to another pizza place to fight Vecna. That’s it. It could’ve been done by any actor I guess. But I thought Eduardo Franco brought something different to the mix. On episode 5 you compared Robin vs Argyle and said that Robin does not freak out over monsters and shit. So think about this for a moment. In season 3 Robin was not thrown in front of the madness in a matter of seconds. She was eased in to the mysteries and dangers. Her journey started as an innocent investigation of the Russian base and then it all connected to the upside down. So imagine Argyle casually delivering a pizza and the gang gets on his van with an officer who’s shot and then the military chase after them, the officer dies 🤷‍♀️ he’s gonna freak out. So the weed helped him more than you think. It was normal for teenagers to smoke weed in USA in the 80s I’m not sure about the UK. After he was filled in with everything that’s been going on he’s was calm and collected (also weed helped) and he was willing to help anyway he can. So he’s an alright character that does not deserve hate but definitely goes in the Meh category imo 😅 although his role was vital but cannot be compared with the magnitude of the others roles.

omg thank god a reactor has finally mentioned about Will getting powers. To me it makes so much sense for him to get powers. The connection to the upside down, the mind flayer, vecna. I hope that WIll gets some sort of powers in s5 since he's meant to play a bigger role next season. Also, as you mentioned, Will is WIll the wise (a wizard) so that makes more sense for him to have some sort of powers to help El fight against all the monsters that will be coming through the gate. it is actually a popular theory that will has powers since season 1, because he was able to control the lights to communicate with joyce whilst when joyce and hopper went to the upside down the lights in the byers house weren’t visible in the upside down and the only influence they had on the lights in the real world was the lights following their movements, whereas will was somehow able to spell words out, answer questions and lead joyce to certain places using the lights. he may’ve also been able to open that mini window between the real byers house and the upside down where he spoke to his mum in episode 4, as assuming the demogorgon opened the gates every other time, the demogorgon hadn’t actually arrived there yet to open that one. in comparison with the other flayed people in season 3, will also had significant mental strength to stay sane and in control for much longer than they did when he was flayed in season 2. the nature of will’s “true sight” visions into the upside down before he got flayed are also relatively unexplained, as billy only got those visions after he was flayed. just the only question if he has powers is how he has them and what kind of powers they actually are. perhaps he was born with powers similarly to el but the lab never got to him, perhaps he did get taken to the lab by his dad behind the rest of the family’s back and somehow forgot (i doubt he wouldn’t’ve brought anything up to the others by now if he remembered something like that), perhaps he just acquired powers from all that time in the upside down, perhaps he just inherited powers from his time controlled by the mind flayer (though that would fail to answer any questions about what was happening in season 1 as he got flayed in season 2). or perhaps he doesn’t have powers at all because honestly i struggle to think of it being integrated into the story in the space of one last season but at the same time it would disappoint me that those 8-year-old unanswered questions from season 1 remain untouched. it’s at least very possible that he was taken by vecna and not the demogorgon in the vanishing of will byers as the latch of the door got unlocked, yet the demogorgon doesn’t show at any other time to have any telekinetic abilities that would allow it to unlatch the door. and will whether he was doing it because he knew it would save him or not, sang ‘should i stay or should i go’ to stay alive when he was in the upside down. either way, the duffers have confirmed will will (lol) return to the spotlight again in season 5, and we know there’s certainly bad blood between will and vecna on multiple counts, so it’s gonna be interesting.

Re: your comments on Vecna opening gates now: Vecna couldn’t open the gates until this season. All the psychic kids had a unique power in addition to the stuff they can all do, like that kid who could see things remotely. Eleven’s power is connecting to minds in other dimensions and using that link to open or close gates. Henry’s power was to absorb other people’s minds and their powers with it. When Eleven lost her powers in S3 it’s because Henry stole them through the Mindflayer, and only then did he get the power to open gates.

A lot of people miss that when el looked inside Max’s mind, she wasn’t there, they also forget that papa told el, that Henry doesn’t just kill his victims, he takes everything they are and everything they ever could be. So when Max’s mind is just darkness, it’s a hint that vecna succeeded in taking all of Max, she just didn’t tell anyone.
